CBS Sports has the C's ranked at #2 behind Denver (which I suppose is fair, keeping the current Champs at #1, until proven otherwise).

55-27 doesn't seem like this Team. I think that this is more of an around 60-Win Team?

Yeah, I think the only thing that keeps them from winning around 60 games would be injuries.

I hope Joe knows what he has in Stevens and just decided to play Brisset instead to see what kind of player he was, cause I'm really not that into what i saw from him. Gimme Lamar all day.

Brad Stevens has put me on a diet of crow. This is the Cs best offseaon since 2007. To recap...

Porzingis has never played for a good team. As for his injury history, he's played more minutes than Timelord over the last two seasons. Moreover, a good chunk of RW's minutes were with him at less than 100%. Replacing Smart and Brogdon with KP and Jrue was a win, win. With the latter two, the Cs improve in 3pt shooting and in Usage Rate. Removing the former two was addition from subtraction. A significantly improved Usage means it's less likely for the offense to get bogged down late in games.

Just when I thought it was over, Stevens grabs Nathan Knight, one of my draft sleepers in 2020. He posted an amazing 27% Assist Rate in his senior season at W&M. He .655 TS% makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Best of all, he reminds me of Timelord - great rebounder, good Steal Rate, decent Block Rate. Playing behind KAT, he was never going to get a fair showing. I really hope that's not going to be the case in Boston.

Now the real season starts. I have to admit that this is the best team on paper I've seen since the last championship year, and it seems that we are deeper than that team was 1-15.
I know the starters should be:
White, Holiday, Brown, Tatum and Porzingis (with some Horford sprinkled in as needed, but mostly coming off the bench)

The bench is where I see the biggest jump in talent, again on paper. I always see the players through green tinted glasses, but this bench just seems better. When you add in the 2-ways for the back up big men, I am really impressed with the depth we can put out on a nightly basis. I feel positive that both Queta and Knight will use all their 50 games of availability each for Porzingis and Horford to limit their minutes. Those 2, even in 5 minutes spurts a couple times a game, will really help spread the minutes out during the season. I would also bet that at least one or both will be signed to be on the playoff roster. IIRC, back before summer league started, I said that I wanted Brad to get a couple big men on 2-ways to push Kornet or replace him and provide quality depth behind Porzingis and Al. And that was even before Rob was traded. Sign Queta by releasing someone (not going to say who I would release) and then sign Knight into the 15th spot. Brad has the players in place now that other than the money / tax part of being over the 2nd apron, the rest of the penalties won't affect the team so much. With everyone we have now, we will not have a need to make trades or sign FA's, just resign / extend our own players. Only players we would be signing is restocking the 2-ways. No penalties with that.

PG- PP, Banton, (Davison)
SG- Hauser. Svi, Walsh
SF- Stevens, Brissett
PF- Horford, (Knight)
C - Kornet, (Queta)

Amanda Pflugrad says goodbye to Boston. Where's the Appreciation Thread?

Career update: It’s bittersweet to share, but I have accepted a new opportunity and won’t be back with the Celtics this season.

The past nine years here have been some of my life's most rewarding and transformative years. I've had coworkers and friends who have become family, and I will be forever grateful for those relationships.

Thank you to the @celtics organization for taking a chance on me and believing in my talents. My heart is full of gratitude for all you have given me.

Boston will always be a part of me and feel like home and for that I will always bleed green for my Celtics family.

Stay tuned- I’m excited to share what is next for me very soon!

As a Celtics fan, I can cop to this. But mostly the second one.

Yeah I posted under this Tweet. We not for the faint of heart. We different here. If you pack the house for a preseason game, you're different. But if you take the bad, there's a ton of good about being a Boston fan.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Yup, not much middle ground in Boston. You give it all, and you will be loved more than anywhere else in the country. You dog it, and you will probably hate life in Boston.
Every fan base has their share of knuckleheads that can give an entire organization a bad name (and believe me, I've seen our fair share here in Boston), but I think most players ignore the banter and dumb accussitions that other fan bases try to throw at Boston, and really enjoy playing here (again, as long as they give it their all).

Five of first seven Celtics games (9 of the first 14) are on the road, but no road game is West of MIssissippi River (not sure about Target Center in MN). Only got a real look at our schedule now.

OK, now I'm getting worried. Over on CBS Sports all 6 "experts" picked Boston to win the East, and half of them picked the C's to win it all.
Too....much....positive.....energy....flow.....can't.....take.....it!!!!!

FWIW, here's (possibly) the 4th and 5th best player for each contender. Each duo is ranked (roughly) in order from best to worst:

Celtics: Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White
Warriors: Klay Thompson, Chris Paul
Cavs: Evan Mobley, Max Strus
Nuggets: Michael Porter Jr, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Bucks: Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis
Knicks: RJ Barrett, Quentin Grimes
Sixers: Tobias Harris, PJ Tucker
Suns: Nurkic, Grayson Allen
Lakers: Deangelo Russell, Taurean Prince
Clippers: Russell Westbrook, Terrence Mann
Heat: Caleb Martin, Kyle Lowry
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

About the Mississippi River headwaters

The mighty Mississippi River begins its winding journey to the Gulf of Mexico as a mere 18-foot wide knee-deep river in Itasca State Park. From here the river flows north to Bemidji, where it turns east, and then south near Grand Rapids. It will flow a total of 694 miles before working its way out of Minnesota.
