GODzingis and Tatum were awesome on both ends. White had a good game on both ends. Jrue was fantastic on the defensive end. Everbody else was mediocre to Jaylen Brown.

Wasn't the best fourth quarter I've ever seen but they pulled it out against a solid NY team.
I think it's going to take a little while for these guys how to figure out to play together.
That doesn't change the fact that I do have major concerns about this team's depth because I don't think Hauser and Pritchard are going to cut it.

Jrue consistently makes amazing plays defensively.

Felt like previously to win this one, Tatum would've had to have gone for 45. And seemed like he could have, tonight. But he shared the ball -- feel really confident with the ball in his hands (despite some TOs tonight)

Yes. And overall as a team, we were able to settle down, show some better composure and executive better on both ends of the floor down the stretch after the game was going sideways there - between Knicks with a 6 point lead and things were getting wild with all those technical fouls, bodies flying around, refs losing control of the game.
Credit to our players and coaches for sticking together, settling down and pulling it out in the end.
As teams get more predictable to close out games and run more iso than normal (us included in both of those things) I think we’ll see a lot of games where we defend really well to end games. Our potential there with our top 6 is REALLY high.

Jaylen with a team-high 5 assists and Jrue with 3 blocks: #s that surprised me

To be even more optimistic I’m sure we would have lost this game in the past.
I was about to type the same thing. This team is nowhere near firing on all cylinders, so we'll have to be patient.
Very impressed with Porzingis. He probably can't believe he's getting the ball so much (and so open).

I don't think that the Starters should play so many minutes.
This Team is Deep. Keep the Starters at 30 mins or less.
Might want to extend to a 10-Man Lineup?

Last season this game would've been a loss.
Yeah, the Knicks got hot in the 4th, but the Celts were in it until JB made that stupid pass.
It was supposed to be game over for the Cs, but KP rescued the Cs by playing great on both ends of the floor.
KP not only made that huge 3, he also forced Brunson to miss and made FTs to ice the game.
Cs need to win games like this because last season the Cs couldn't win if things were going bad for them.
This is a great win for the Cs.

Agreed. When our top 6 guys are locked in, we're gonna be really tough to score on in crunch time.

I know we joke about players doing it but sometimes I wonder if refs were out too late the night before. Wild calls against both teams.

33-35 MPG is fine for today’s nba, except for Porzingis lol, I want to be cautious with him.
Depth is more important during the doldrums of mid season.

Jrue is very poised, too. Porzingis seems that way somewhat, as well.

If the bench makes shots then the starters wouldn't have to play a lot.
But Horford was the only bright spot off the bench.
If PP and Sam made shots, Joe would have sat the starters more.
We'll have to wait after 20 games to see if the bench needs an upgrade.
Maybe this is just one of those nights for Sam and PP.

Not every game will be a close nail biter that goes down to the wire against a team that will probably be a top 5 seed in the east, like this one was.
So during those other games, we'll be able to play the bench more.
Plus, Joe wanted to get a win on opening night to set the tone for our season.
Plus, we'll sit guys out later in the season when there's back to backs. And more bench guys will get a chance to play when there's injuries..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Porzingis is one of the ten best on court fits in the league with Tatum, their games are made for each other.
The injury concerns are real of course, but dude is disgusting on both ends.

Still can't believe JB made that pass.
That was so stupid!
JB needs to bounce back in the next game.
