This. Outside of Midds being hurt, Grant was the next biggest factor that tilted that series in 22.

He was able to hold off Giannis in the post and flop enough that Giannis was slightly less efficient which also allowed the Celtics to keep Rob Williams out of the lineup and play five out on offense. That made Brook unplayable and the Bucks desperately needed Brook to be playable to try and get into those rock throwing contests they won in the 2021 playoffs by just killing teams on the glass and in the paint.

Thought it was because our HC allowed williams n horford to go nuclear from 3 n game 6 not do anything about it.JMO anyway

Good game for the respective footsoldiers in the Wemby Agenda Wars. It's obvious how he tilts the court when he's in but OTOH 6 and 4.

Spurs could really use Middleton. Maybe by the trade deadline we can trade them Middleton for Wemby. It would be hard, but I would do it.

Bulls already having a players only meeting 1-game into the season lol. Can't see a scenario where Billy Donovan and DeRozan are still there past the trade deadline.

Bulls are going absolutely no where for a long time, but I can't believe a 20 point loss in the first game of the season led to a players only  Whole lot of not-great and not-good players with big heads thinking they are difference makers, confused why they instead suck.

Those two got to have shooting practice because Grant defending Giannis rather than Horford allowed them to not play Rob Williams.

If they had to play Rob, that’s the guy the Bucks leave open to keep Brook in the paint.

Maybe a hot take, maybe not. But Kawhi's days of being a Top-10 guy in the league even when he's healthy are long gone. As of now he looks like Wizards Jordan just with a better 3PT shot. The athleticism's not there anymore.

Day late thoughts:

Doc and Doris calling a Celtics game is torture. Just really hard to watch. Maybe unsurprisingly, Doc managed to be the least biased of the two. It's hard to see the Knicks ceiling as any higher than a play-in team.

Beal and Booker doubtful tonight.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Brandon Miller looked pretty good in his debut, and Mark Williams was awesome and honestly might have DPOY potential. Hornets might have something there with LaMelo/Miller/Williams.

Ya'll ever notice that the Nets' logo never features a basketball net? The Carter/Kidd era-they had a hoop, sans net. It's not nothing but net... it's just literally nothing.

This Harden deal is so funny. Team tells him they 'prefer' him to stay back but James takes that as only a suggestion and shows up lol

Knicks had a bottom 10 FT% last year, but I do agree they'll do better than play-in. I could see them more of a 5/6 seed.

I like the Knicks quite a bit in a very non-threatening way. Kinda like Sacramento. They’re good teams who play hard, have some uniqueness to them, but ultimately come up short with top-end talent.

Barrett is their big problem, imo. They are desperate for perimeter creation/shot making and he just doesn’t provide that.

He’s the Julius Randle of guards, but smaller, so effectively he’s an even worse player. He’s 6’6” with B athleticism, whose preferred style is getting to the rim and finishing at odd angles. It’s just not good enough.

If you can package those picks and do the Randle, barrett, quickley route for Embiid of course you do that for an mvp caliber player, but I wouldn’t wait.

In the meantime, I think I’d just move barrett. I think doing that wouldn’t preclude them from going after Embiid later if he becomes available, but it could also make them better now.

Maybe just a barrett demar swap. Demar is a better shot creator and ball mover, and I think he could help the Knicks. Then move quickley to the starting lineup, because he’s going to a borderline all-star in time and you need him playing heavier minutes. They’d still be a fun, mostly non-threatening team, but they’d be a better non-threatening team, and I like that.

Morey's willing to live in the discomfort so this will drag out, but any other GM would've traded Harden ASAP even if it meant getting 25 cents on the dollar. That worked for him when it came to Simmons but its hard to see history repeating itself because even if you can find a 2nd team that's interested, you're not going to get a great offer from any of them. Miami could theoretically be interested but you're probably looking at Lowry and Jovic and maybe you can squeeze a pick swap out of them. Or Chicago for Lavine or DeRozan, actually Harden for DeRozan is probably the best the Sixers could hope for at this point.

Who do you most want on your team out of Westbrook, Harden or Kyrie?

Personal taste, NONE

It's going to be fun when the league uses the load management policy to force the 6'rs to play Harden.
