Workshopping Regular Season Substitution Pattern

Got bored so I did a thing...

I understand it's gonna be different game-to-game so this is just a general idea of what I like the sub pattern to be.

Scattered Thoughts:
1. Start and end halves with your best five.
2. Tatum or Brown on the floor at all times.
3. At least two of the top 6 always on the floor. If it's just two, it's Tatum + another guy from top 6.
4. Jaylen will always have either Jrue or White on the floor with him.
5. Horford plays a bit more in the 2nd half.
6. Kornet is interchangeable with Queta/Knight IDEC.
7. Stevens can be replaced with Brissett/Svi (move up/down positions as needed).
8. Can't not have a 10th guy if you want to reduce the Horford/Porzingis minutes.
9. I have high hopes for Hauser. Play Hauser.
10. Sixteen minutes of double-big lineups, 10 minutes with Horford/Porzingis sharing the floor.

If Joe would like to experiment, I'm not opposed to starting double-big but Jrue is the one coming off the bench, not White. I also like the idea proposed by some of having Lamar or Hauser play with starters more but that can only be achieved if they actually start (or maybe end the 1st half with them)?

There used to be a website that had "box scores" that showed the exact time of all substitutions laid out graphically just like this. It was several years ago and I can't find it for the life of me anymore. Not sure if it still exists and I just can't locate it or if it's gone defunct.

This is the one I used: https://www.thehoopsgeek.com/basketball-rotation-app/

Pretty good for tinkering with the minutes and adding/removing players.

Hmm interesting. The one I used to use was a layout like that but from all the completed games. Ie, it was a box score that also showed that type of graphic from each game as they were played. Rather than a sort of projection or hypothetical.

I’d like to see more of the defensive guys sprinkled in with our top-4. Lord of offensive talent and I understand the need for shooting so Hauser and Pritchard make sense but I’d opt for a little more energy and opportunities to create in transition with Brissett and Stevens playing more with Tatum/Jrue/KP. Brissett did have a pretty uninspiring pre-season though

First thing that jumps out to me is that I don’t like the Stevens/Kornet overlap to end the first. Not a good spacing duo there

That's two minutes out of 48 where Cs don't have four shooters on the floor. We're blessed relative to the rest of the league. Anyway, an easy fix would be to have Hauser come in early and replace those Lamar minutes. Hauser's total minutes go up to 18. Lamar's decrease to 10. Which is totally fine. Shift positions (Tatum to PF, Hauser to SF) in those two minutes.
