Don’t think it’s going to be 2 x unprotected FRPs. One of them is probably going to be pretty protected.

Sounds like it’s a 2026 1st from OKC potentially unprotected.

I wouldn’t disagree but their fans are likely going to get restless soon. And I don’t know if OG is going to stay at the end of his contract. He’s got a player option for $19mm next year and he could likely get more on the free market. Siakam also being a FA next year they should just do what they can to get assets.

This is a similar package that got Boston Jrue, and I would put OG a step below Jrue so the value is about right. That’s the smart kinda target for us. Use this package to get at lease one sub-all star. And wait and maybe use Harris and the leftover picks for another one.

The Harden experience was basically exactly what people thought from the outside looking in: Elite offense, playoff failure, trade request.

All things considered, even with the drama, the opt in worked out far better than the other options (him walking for nothing or giving him a big long-term contract). Plus the Nets are still left holding the bag on that Simmons contract.

I'm glad we have some optionality right now with expirings/picks to offer at the deadline or the ability to stand pat and have cap space. Plus it helps that Maxey has been awesome.

Fortuitous timing for this trade as well because now we have evidence that Maxey is blossoming into a true star. Hopefully that gets us to avoid a dumb trade like Lavine. We should be trying to find our own version of the Aaron Gordon trade that pushed Denver over the top.

Underreported part of this deal, it appears we re-acquired stormi as part of the trade.

The delta in salaries in vs out is basically $4.2m + Petrusev's salary ($1.1m) I suppose so around $5.3m total or maybe around $6m if Petrusev can count for a bit more.

I believe Siakam is extension eligible since it's been 3 years since he signed his current deal. I believe OG is not for the same reason.

In theory I’d like an OG trade, however if Maxey and Embiid come up lame in a playoff game or two, we have zero players on this team that can take the reins and generate offense.

I think he senses Tobias' impending doom. Once he's gone, Stormi will be fully back. Although I'd prefer for him to be back now.

In reality if both Maxey and Embiid come up short we might as well blow it up regardless of what other players we have.
