Stop this. Even the players say he gets on their ass all the time and expects a lot.

Only do NBA fans buy into drill sergeant bull as some sort of secret offense whisperer when it comes to players making shots or not.

lol Ask a child if their parent disciplines them enough, the answer is yes…

When they leave and win in Miami they will clearly speak to how the culture didn’t demand excellence..

Demanding character and being a good teammate is not demanding excellence in terms of winning lol

You have zero idea what you're talking about, respectfully.

I trust the players who say that he demands **** from them and all of the coaches that also speak well of Mose than posters who don't see him turning red in the face like Clifford and act like he's not demanding of them.

At some point, in the last decade, the offense is what it is because of personnel and player accountability instead of bringing in the next coach to get blamed for people missing open shots.

If you're talking about the minutiae, yes, every coach has weaknesses.

This was pretty much a schedule loss but still. Disappointing to see WCJ and Paolo play so poorly. Getting a win in Utah will leave us in a good spot after the first 5 games.

I agree tbh. Mosley has his shortcomings, but why is it we always blame the coach and never the FO? Magic fans borderline worship Weltman even though he’s ran the FO for like 7 years with no team success. Our roster construction has always been funky and he refuses to do anything to improve the roster but make first round picks, sell second rounders and once in a blue moon sign some old player that doesn’t bring anything to the table.

I’m not saying anyone should be fired, but if the coaches are always being held accountable by the fans then why isn’t Weltman?

I'm with you up until that last point. I think they should be fired

And in the end, struggling could be good because hopefully that means changes happen if they continue to stink it up. FO has a reputation for staying put but if the fans are angry and the team is struggling because of expectation, that means maybe they try for a big name.

Yeah the replacing coach talk is exhausting. At some point, accountability has to be on the players.

Try the Front Office.

That's fair. There are players that I like and I do feel that the defensive versatility is there (ignoring this beatdown) but yes there is a lot of it that doesn't make sense. This will only get worse if WCJ and Paolo do not turn into actual NBA level players again.

You cannot win against good defensive teams with a roster of players that are sub-average shooters.

It’s not happening.

You can be a great defensive team (Orlando is) and it won’t matter if your offense is predictable and all of your shots are in the paint weak attempts.

Yeah but they will face the shotblocker Kessler and our boy Keyonte...

I think Paolo and WCJ are less effective when they see a shptblocker in the middle. Just like last season

I can only think the reason Mosley ain't playing the rooks and Caleb just because he want their starters and core 2nd unit feel embarrassed and prove something on them. Play the rooks already!

I wouldn’t complain, but I doubt it happens. I will be pretty pissed if we sit on our cap space again next offseason and make no attempts at improving the team though. Tbh it was ridiculous that we didn’t do anything this offseason. Just wasted money on Ingles to punt that space to the future. If they punt on it again then I definitely want them gone.

the crazy part is, Kawhi has bee a non factor tonight. If he was even average, this is a 30 point loss easily

I agree 100 percent. This focus on defense to the exclusion of offense is absurd and will take you nowhere. You'll beat the Portland and Houstons of the world but you're going to lose overall. You have to be able to score.

Paolo will be fine. Sophomore slumps are a thing. But the way he's playing is frustrating because you know how good he can be when he plays with a purpose.

We've got too many journeyman masquerading as key role players for our team.

On the bright side... when we had dominant Magic teams like Shaq and Dwight, we usually sucked at FTs. So.... its a sign that we will be dominant right? Right? Right?

Mose probably thinks that has some symbolic importance to the team culture. Some such BS.

I guess we need to make a thread about who is Franz Wagner cause his ball handling is really bad

Return to Orlando Magic
