I had a similar take on the interview, it seemed like some of the questions had the sole purpose of trying to get KAT to say something that could blow up on social media.

"Knicks Monitoring Karl-Anthony Towns Situation" - why is this headline news? I mean if you are a GM, aren't you monitoring every situation? If this is not tampering, I don't know what is.

Yea it kind of felt like baiting. I don't blame him for being really mum as of late in interviews. People clown him like crazy, I also get why he gets clowned but I bet he's tired of it so he doesn't want to give any more fuel right now.

I thought KAT had a bad reputation among NBA fans but man, Rudy Gobert gets absolutely zero respect. I was watching several youtube game recaps, these are just NBA youtube personality types, not media people, but just social media NBA fans, the kind of people who probably reflect a good size of the young NBA fan demographic, and I would see a huge percentage of them, like 4 our of 7 I watched, absolutely trashed Rudy Gobert in ther highlights. He missed that first layup and they were on him. Several talked about how overrated he was on defense because Doncic hit a couple of threes on him, etc. It's crazy how little the casual NBA fan thinks of Rudy Gobert, they really do think he is garbage.

It’s true about Rudy. I get that he is awkward and his game isn’t pleasing to the eye. But people see what they are looking for.

The thing that always makes me roll my eyes is how haters point out the shots Rudy misses, when he has six of the top 20 seasons of ALL TIME in FG% .. including last year.

He's obviously not garbage, but I'd dog on him too for blowing a layup.

Dunks are easier to make than layups. But yeah he's one of the most consistent finishers in the league.

I feel like big market teams think we're feeder teams for them.

So happy to see Denver and Milwaukee win championships back to back.

Before Wemby even played a pre-season game, I heard media already saying Wemby will be playing for the Lakers within 5 years.

You mean the Wemby for DLo + Vanderbilt + 2 future 1st trade is not real?

Normally an engaging, colorful quote prone to long discussions with the media about all things basketball and beyond, Towns has been a vanilla, cliche-spewing interview all fall. That shouldn’t be misconstrued as him being unhappy with the organization for the inevitable trade rumors that will float. In practice and around members of the organization, he is his usual happy, fun-loving self. On their trip to Toronto, he carried a metallic Moncler carry-on with a light-up sign on it that read, “Wolves back.”

Obviously it was different era, different NBA, but if Karl becomes our version of physical PF such as Rasheed Wallace or Zach Randolph, I can see MIN developing defensive minded identity such DET under Larry Brown or MEM of Grit and Grind era...

Never thought about such career turnaround for Towns, it will be a complete shift of mentality.

Yeah, I've always thought ZBo was an interesting comp, since he wasn't always a good defender but developed that toughness over time.

It's time to move Towns guys. We have the best defense in the NBA. We have a young Kobe Bryant. We can go far. Recoup future assets to acquire a new star or get someone like Siakam but man, this team is good, and it's hard to see Towns fitting in and being maximized.

I was just thinking that Towns for Murray/Jalen Johnson and picks deal a lot of you proposed in the past would look awfully good now LOL

I am starting to think even the quickley, Mitchell, fournier and picks deal might be okay…

It is sad because I started following the wolves after they got Kat, but sometimes things need to end and he’s just the odd man out with his contract exploding next season.

The issue is that Towns is part of that “best defense in the NBA.” He’s absolutely crucial to Minnesota’s game plan against Nikola Jokić, so dumping him really hurts Minnesota in that matchup.

It will be great to see him respond with a good game vs Zion and the Pelicans. He was trending nicely until today

Perhaps the wolves need to have Kat do what he's doing on defense...which is working more than it has in years it seems, but on offense be more a Robert Horry for now, till he works out whatever is his offensive funk, but tbh if he could just combine this current KAT defense with his typical offense, then he's prob worth his contract... but I think he overthinks things too often , esp on offense, and gets silly fouls (but he tends to do that on defense at times as well but I think that is him trying to over compensate) KAT is an immensely talented player but just needs a 2 degree change to get back to his true self , maybe more degrees on the psychological aspect

Karl had a rough game: 7 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 7 turnovers, 6 fouls. 3-10 from field, 0-7 from 3 pt.

But how was his defense? Did he keep his composure through foul troubles?

P.S. I have not watched this game yet, need to work :(
