How in the world is anyone still dumb enough to think Gutenkist won’t **** up another 3rd round pick? 7th times a charm I guess? Get real.

The first 5 listed are rough but I'm not ready to write off Kraft yet. TEs typically take a few years to develop . But yea not a great track record, hopefully they use those 2 3rds to move up into the 2nd

I’m not ready to write him off yet either. It’s definitely a fair point. Just seems like an underwhelming choice so far albeit a small sample size. But when you have a QB that couldn’t hit the ocean with a football standing on the beach, I have to be a pessimist.

Hopefully a different GM is making the picks is how I feel personally.

Anyone still angry at Bakh for saying the Packers were re-building during the offseason?

Anyone?

Burks, fwiw, seems to be playing well in SF

It's not third round picks. It's almost all his picks after round one.

No more 3rds for Gutey. Please let's package this 3rd to get another 1st or a higher 1st. Do a reverse King-TJ Watt trade and move up instead of down. Or a repeat Clay Matthews trade where we again trade a 2nd, 3rd, plus, for a 1st.

Don't be negative, maybe we draft the next Amari, Deguara or Jace Sternberger.

I swear this is the exact same comment that was made when we didn't trade a 2nd and a 3rd for Chase Claypool

The 3rd-round pick history is hilarious to be sure, but there's no actual cause-and-effect reason that they should be any worse, relative to expected value, than any other picks. It's just one of those weird streaks that happens sometimes.

I've lightly defended Gute's drafting on here, but it's starting to look pretty bad at this point. Obviously Love's performance tips the scales dramatically, but other picks that showed lots of promise, or at least competence, early on keep crashing hard in their 2nd or 3rd years. Who on this list hasn't shown signs of steep decline since looking average to good in their first or second year?

Stokes (when healthy in year 2)
Myers (was at least serviceable the last few years)
Dillon (year 3 crashed)
Watson
Doubs?

It's incredibly disappointing considering that we thought we might have something with those guys, although I realize that the WRs at least might still be good. Even the Dillon pick, which was rightly panned at the time, was looking fine in his second season.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

The Packers are currently 21st in offensive DVOA(which takes schedule into account). For a team that supposedly has a terrible play caller, terrible QB, terrible weapons, and a terrible line it's pretty surprising they aren't bottom 10.

All of this is my long way of saying, it may look ugly at times, but considering the inexperience & youth if you'd have told me we'd have the 21st ranked offense this year I'd probably have taken it

Imagine how bad is a bottom 5 O.

Now do the last 5 weeks where they've averaged a whopping 15.6 PPG. We all know we're headed toward bottom 5 territory.

I'm here to tell you, we're not going to be 21st at end of season.

While it's true they got off to a fast start in week 1 they've basically plateud between the high teens and low 20s since then.

In the last 4 weeks they've gone from 18th to 21st to 17th to 21st

My preseason expectation was that they'd start slow (Love, rookies in key roles, guys coming back from injury, etc). They started better than I thought, then have struggled since. I had hoped by mid season, we'd be seeing steady improvement, but I'm having doubts that the improvement will happen at the pace I hoped. My 8w-9L season looks very optimistic right now. I hope they get their **** together more consistently before long and let the record take care of itself. I think Between the Bears(Carolina helping), Cardinals, and Giants, they're going to be the bottom feeders.

Probably sign him to a fat extension. Is Jenkins the only Gute non 1st round pick to get a second contract?

Well, huh.... I've seen Myers with clear no-contact whiffs on some block attempts.

That's where I get a kick out listening to Laravee and McCarren on the radio. McCarren isn't afraid to name names on good and bad line play. Myers and Runyan have taken some recurring lumps in his assessments. Newman too. McCarren will toe the company line in post-game coverage, but during the game, he'll call 'em as he sees 'em.

Major regression from Watson, Dillon, Runyan, Myers, Nijman, Stokes and probably others I am not even thinking of. The coaching staff needs to at minimum hold themselves accountable for such drastic regression. Injuries have surely been a part of it, but other than hitting on guys like Zac Tom, the entire offensive line looks much worse. Rodgers is part of that for sure, but there must have been other losses when Hackett left but we look incredibly poorly coached in all three phases this season

Is it really regression for Watson or did we get a little ahead of ourselves because of a good/flukey month of play last year.

Oline has definitely regressed across the board for some reason. Sucks
