Teams in each group will play each other on certain dates throughout November (Tuesdays and Fridays).

Then 8 teams (the 6 winners of each group along with 2 wildcards) will advance to the Knockout Rounds.

Then 2 teams advance to the Tournament Championship game in Vegas on December 9.

(The final championship game will be the only extra game added to the schedule, so those two teams will play an additional game. All the other tournament games are written into the normal 82 game schedule.)

So they basically expand from 1230 regular season games to 1231? That’s some dedication to the cause lol.

I was actually about to say, I would be surprised if this lasts five years. The advertising dollars they’re spending on this and the resources they’re putting into getting people to understand what’s going on is insane to get one extra game of door and TV revenue.

Just seems like Silver likes soccer more than basketball :-?

People have been complaining about regular season games not mattering for years and now they complain that it matters for something.

Most interesting part is seeing if the players get into it or not (ie, play harder for extra money).

I’m a bit bullish on the whole thing hitting, really.

It still doesn’t really matter to the average fan. There’s no playoff incentive, it’s a random trophy and the players get paid more.

No one cares Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler, Jokic and Curry won a conference MVP award. Same deal.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I might be in the minority but the Pacer in game tourney court is pretty noice! Definitely has a playground/street ball feel to the look.

I’m someone who is often up for new things and while I’m cool with the tournament, the court makes everything look cheap and nasty to me…it’s also harder to watch the game itself.

That's without getting into the impact he's had in other countries (for instance +220% league pass subscription in France compared to last season). I'm sure NBA management will manage to cry themselves to sleep over all the millions they are making by promoting that kid.

Which will all be negated soon enough when the realization of them being a lottery team kicks in.

You sure about that ?

Absolutely.

Do you believe they will make the playoffs?

I hate Jae Crowder and this bucks team. Closet dirty. Giannis is bagless but is the most protected player in the league and Dame is a brat.

This is a rough quote. I acknowledge the humility of listening to others and being open to suggestions, but you don't have to out yourself to the media lol.

With Grant Williams a "hot topic" today in the other thread, I am even more tuned into watching Dallas-Denver.

Many seem to be in Buy mode on Grant's stock.. I'd still sell. Let's see what tonight holds on a nationally televised game vs a great team...

Pressure busts Pipes!
