We need to give Svi a shot over Pritchard.

This team is close to the 2008 team except they aren't, if that makes sense. Close yet too far.

The starting 5 can be special this year. But they still lack a leader and the mental toughness that KG brought. Also the 2008 team had firepower off the bench. This team has a terrible bench. Pritchard has been so disappointing. And Al should be like the 8th or 9th man, like PJ Brown. We need a legit 6th man and a 7th man.

Not sure what game you were watching.

The Celtics might have made a few errors but they got quality open looks all night and just couldn’t get them to fall.

White and Horford missed about ten wide open threes.

Defensively they did fine. Took Maxey 27 shots to get 25 points.

Yeah I thought we were mostly fine too. Nurse took away the low post game by having Embiid lurk near the paint so we had to go to the perimeter which we did, couldn’t hit.

We need to cut the turnovers though, so many dumb ones.

U high? They gonna be tough.

Maxey a problem, they got more depth. Got some bodies. Clearly top 3 in east.

Joe puts a career 37% 3 point shooter (Jrue) in on the last play when a career 42% 3 point shooter rides the pine. I can't any more with Joe. What did/does he have on Brad, is my question.

They won't do it. Not yet anyway.

I want to see Svi, Stevens and Queta off the bench. Sometimes Brissett too. Al and Pritchard has been bad.

I'm up for that. And then stagger Jrue and White to keep a legit ball handler on the court at all times.

The game were they got a thousand stops in the 3rd and scored a sizzling 17 points.

Easier said than done.

Even KP missed dunks.

I agree on attacking the rim, but Embiid really does a great job protecting the paint.
That's been the case for years now.

We won the series last season because we kept attacking Embiid.

Yes with Doc Rivers allowing Embiid to get torched on switches.

See how the Sixers threw multiple bodies near Tatum when he tried to attack tonight?

It’s a new coach with new schemes.

That’s fine and all to say they got good looks but the majority of the offense was stand still, dribble dibble, one pass.. three. It’s not like they were getting into the paint and breaking down the defense and getting open looks that way and just missing. They stagnate, stop moving and take the first decent 3 they can get.

It’s not especially hard to defend and it’s as predictable as clock work when we face a good defense. We saw it all last year. Both teams played pretty well defensively sure.

Bard needs to get Caruso before the Lakers do.

It was a lot easier to build a bench in 2008 because the standard for a playable NBA player was much lower. In 2023 Tony Allen and young Rondo are unplayable because of their shooting. Eddie House is unplayable because he'd get targeted on D. Big Baby and Scal are unplayable because they suck. In 2007-8 these guys played significant minutes.

Sad to see Big Al has regressed this much since last year. Al has been a non factor so far 7 games into the season. Is it because of his reduced minutes and he needs more burn to get himself into a rhythm?

Because they missed shots. It happens.

The NBA is a make or miss league.

Salary cap also works a lot differently now.

But let’s also remember the Celtics in 08 picked up a few dudes towards the postseason run.

I think there’s a high chance similar will happen this year.

He was a non factor shooting the entire playoffs last year. He's old.

No matter what we think of Joe Mazzulla, we can't possibly believe Gary Washburn knows more about basketball than him.

Yawn.

Boston media dinosaur yelling about too many 3s.

Sounds like half this board.

The NBA is dominated by the three these days.

Some of you might not like it but that’s how it is.
