Food for thought...
Torrey Craig who looked good off the bench, has played with the big 3, and now has hit in his 4 starts.

After tonight hes is an overall -27 as a starter.
Now, I dont believe for one second that its because Torrey plain sucks. The Big 3 has a lot to do with what we see. You have to have a perfect 4 to play with those guys. Even then I don't think it would matter.

Re: PG - Medíocre
Bulls actually played well in this game but unfortunately didn’t get the W in the end. This wasn’t like other games where they looked like trash.
It’s a shame, AC had a great game, hats off to him. Very good defensively, guarded 6”11 Durant successfully and for the first time in a while scored as well with 19 pts. Guy gave his heart out the whole game.
Starting lineup did their job too Zach, Demar, Vuc and Coby all played well. Again just sucks that they didn’t win,but if they play like this consistently they will win games.

TBH we are a good playoff caliber team.. i truly believe that and as a fan, I would love to continue believing that we are a capable team. We can still turn this around BUT.. now is the time to fire Billy. He needs to go!

For that 4 starting position they just need someone who would complement the big 3. Someone who can defend, rebound, with size and toughness. Jevonte was ok for that role last year but was way too short. Theis I think would fit and can do that job.

Re: PG - Medíocre
Net-Rating when our Mediocre-3 play together by season.
2023-24 : minus-19.7 (still small sample though 193min played together)
2022-23 : minus-0.4
2021-22 : minus-1.1
I understand playing with non-starter level players like Pat and Coby makes it even worse but the experiment of Mediocre-3 has totally failed IMHO. They do not fit well together. Also they're just not good individually too. Many analytic stats have indicated DDR and LaVine has never cracked into top-30 for the past 3 seasons.
Besides it's that bad in the regular season games. Imagine Mediocre-3 getting picked on in the playoffs against playoffs teams. Remember AK saying he's come to the Bulls to build a championship roster? Well even delusional AK would not think this team is built for the playoffs at this very moment. Their defensive limitation is too glaring while their offensive fit is mediocre at best.

Yeah it's sure not fun watching the Mid-3 play together. Caruso is the only guy who can make that Mid-3 look less painful. The worst stretch is when Billy put Pat in with the Mid-3. Caruso need to be on the floor whenever the Mid-3 is on the floor. And please Billy limit the Mid-3's time together. AK, please trade one of them or just blow them up. You are investing on the wrong core and its rotting.

Re: PG - Medíocre
This was not a bad loss. I liked watching the game. It sucks to lose and we are not a team that will consistently these close games. We are 2-3 in clutch games now. That's not trash. That's the NBA. Trash games are the ones we let get away and are never competitive in, or the ones were we let teams just pull away in the 4th. We've had a couple of those this year too, so that is indicative of a disappointing season yet again, I agree with that.
But I'm seeing lots that I like ... and in contrast to other people's points, I'm seeing lots in these clutch loses that CAN be fixed.
For instance, Zach needs to get his quarters 1-3. He CANNOT be our go-to guy in the fourth. He needs to be a spot up shooter or cutter and play OFF-BALL in final minutes. He is so bad at reading the floor, and holding onto the ball in these moments. DeRozan, he's superb at it.
Pat to the bench WILL be a big evolution. Of course with each blocked shot we sigh. But I'm not going to let that erase the many spots tonight that were exciting and impactful from him. I like the growth that's already hinted at in his first couple games off the bench.
Coby was fire tonight. He only had some real scoring for one spurt (2nd Q I think). But he was playing like a real NBA impact starter.
Honestly, I would LOVE to see Pat match all his minutes with AC. Every time AC is out there with Coby, Coby plays a different brand of bball that's exciting and impactful. I've seen better from Pat when he's with AC too. On the flip side, Pat is his absolute worst when he's out there with the big 3.
On that note, I really like the many different rotation combos used tonight by Billy. The only one I hated was Ayo+Pat with big three. If hte big 3 are on the floor at the same time, it should ONLY be with vets and/or Coby (so AC/Craig/Carter). If Pat is on the floor, or Ayo, it should only be with 2 of the 3. And they should get more time with AC/Craig/Carter/Coby.
I still feel genuinely excited to watch this team every game. I think they will get a streak going sooner rather than later.

Yep.
And Carter plays 13 mins.
Makes no sense.

The 0-3 got us out to a 22-4 deficit.
That’s awful.

Suns have zero trade assets remaining and have an old Beal and KD on the roster taking up a combined nearly $100M in salary cap space for like the next 5 years. Zero picks btw.

This might be the greatest case of "Addition by subtraction" the NBA may have ever seen. If AK decided to "blow it up" (sell two of the the Net-Neg-3 for a bag of Aldi's potato chips), we just might make the play-in.

Re: PG - Medíocre
I’m a Suns fan and I just want to say, I thought you guys got robbed. Low key I was rooting for the Bulls to win because Caruso was amazing and deserved this win more than anyone on the Suns did. Suns winning was absolutely a fluke, Bulls outplayed us 99% but that 1% you guys got some favorable calls in your favor imo.
I will say, Vucevic really sucked for yall down the stretch and I felt like if he didn’t take some terrible shots late in the game that led to 1 and done for the Bulls then yall would’ve won. I really think getting rid of him and “selling high” should be the first step the Bulls need to do if they want to build a contender around DeRozan/LaVine/Caruso.
Even someone like Bismack Biyombo who just recently signed for vet min with Memphis would’ve been better fit for this team than Vucevic just because of the defense and toughness Biyombo brings (which I saw first hand when he was with the Suns).

Think he's talking about this year. They add Booker and build some chemistry and they might have something. The Bulls are hopeless.

Caruso is consistently the one that makes the most impact. He should net the Bulls some good assets at the trade deadline when we blow up this trash roster

If I were any team inside the top 8 in the league, I’d hand over two lottery protected firsts in a heartbeat. He’s the difference between a great team and a championship team.

There’s a reason why I didn’t want the Bulls to resign Vuc because he made Nurkic look like Jokic.

So infuriating watching Grayson outproduce Zach on the regular. What’s it been, 3x?
Vuc with digits… but uh, Nurk with 3x the boards and assists. And the clutch stops.
