Re: PG Raps - Dame + Malik = WIN
Reports are that Dame and Giannis spend a lot of time at Giannis' house going over how to maximize their talents together.
It shouldn't take more than a minute. Dame is one of the Goat PG's. He initiates, Giannis (and everyone else) feasts.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Didn't get a chance to watch but I'm glad we finally got a comfortable win. I was curious how we'd look without Giannis and it seems they passed that test with flying colors
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Thanks for listening to my nonsense.
We’ll learn over the next month whether Giannis is willing to reinvent himself (and how hard Griffin will push the issue).

The truth is NIETHER Dame and Giannis need to reinvent themselves.paulpressey25 wrote:buckboy wrote:Every possession should start with Dame.

BOTH simply need to tweak their games and gain more chemistry to have a better feel for when to take the lead from the other
The idea that either guy needs to reinvent themselves is simply limiting one and missing the point of pairing them together

It's one of those situations for Giannis where if he makes some sacrifices, he'll actually end up having a better shot at winning MVP this season. And the Bucks will have a better shot at winning it all.

This is the big ceiling we have to bust through moving forward. Giannis has to figure out how to dominate off the ball and his usual in transition. No more of the cringe inducing jumpers while everyone stands around watching. Get yourself into good positions and let Dame and Khris feed you the rock.

AJJ is a Jared Dudley-level intangibles savant albeit w/o Duds' serviceable shooting. AJJ makes up for it with much superior athleticism and follicular robustness.

Respectively disagree. The point of pairing them wasn’t to have Giannis bring the ball up, go 1-4 into the wall, and shoot 3’s. He’s got to end that.

This. Shots were made tonight and missed other nights. The level of play offensively didn't change.

The defense play has sure changed. Execution, communication, and physicality. Griff had a lot to teach, but we're on it way to being defensively versatile.

All we had to do was hire a coach willing to call Giannis out with enough experience to be credible when doing so. We whiffed on both of those criteria. Rotations, X’s and O’s, literally any other coaching decision will not come close to the impact of convincing Giannis to play off ball.

The ball movement tonight was insane compared to anything we’ve seen recently, all because Dame dominated the ball. What were you watching?

Which is gonna happen.
"beyond horrid?"
not even in an era defined by constant hyperbole is that remotely true. he was definitely a little more absent than normal, at least on the telecast. but i can only think of two bad plays from him.
1. gets a good feed near the rim and puts up an uncomfortable sweeping finger roll that gets easily blocked.
2. chases down the ball near the sideline but instead of looking for a man to throw it to, tries throwing it off the opponent and misses.
he got beat on some defensive possessions but i actually like that he seemed to be making a concerted effort to stay grounded and just get a hand up instead of pogo sticking. 2 fouls in 16 minutes is an improvement over his first few games.
i still saw him crashing boards and boxing out at every opportunity. i saw him create two offensive rebounds with intuition and hustle. i saw him make a very clever pass down low to either Brook or Bobby where he ball faked one direction to create a window and then effortlessly flipped it for the assist. i see him continuing to be decisive and quick in his decision making.
some growing pains in this one for him but certainly not a bad game. certainly not "beyond horrid."

i had been beginning to doubt Dame's abilities as a passer. Yeah.. we are good there. I just think, given his size, if he's having an off night it's going to be hard for him to create the kind of situations where he can shine. Hopefully he's got enough left in the tank where those nights are few and far between once he's fully ramped up. But.. that's also why we have Giannis and Khris. this thing is going to be so awesome.

who knows what they had in mind.. but i just thought of something. if Giannis decides to give Dame the reigns, for the most part, teams are not going to dedicate nearly as much game planning to building the Giannis wall. They will be forced to try and figure out a much more complex system. That means that there will be times when Giannis can pull out the iso drive game against a team that is not prepared to deal with it and he will absolutely feast.
Another thought: limited that part of Giannis's game greatly reduces the effort he is required to expend on offense, as well as reduces his risk of injury. He'll have more juice for defense where we arguably need him more. It's up to him.

Agreed. Griffin’s priorities #1, 2, 3 and 4 need to be getting Giannis to play like Shaq or Kareem. Or Tim Duncan.

Spain pick and roll with Khris setting the back screen on the dude who goes with Giannis. If Giannis doesn’t roll open, he goes to dunker’s a waits for offensive rebound or dribble penetration
