And I do suppose once you get to knockout games that those games will feel a bit more than your typical reg season game in Dec, which I suppose is the goal. My knocks would be that it seems too early in the year. When this all started I assumed it would be around mid season. I'd come up with a better name too, throw a cup title on it something. Since everyone loves to blow MJ throw him this bone and call it the Jordan Cup or something. I've always thought tributes should actually happen when people are still alive. And of course they need to tie something else to it than money so fans have a care. Probably put some incentives on 2nd and 3rd place too (if there's not) to create more care from the players.
Yeah they definitely need a name.

I think the early timing is because one of the main goals is to draw any type of interest from the casual 'NBA doesn't start until Christmas' fan. Plus being this early you have less load management type sitting.

I like it, I bought tickets in case we get home court for the knockout round and I never go to games before the all star break. Courts and b2b need fixing and maybe up the money a little more and it will be great imo.

Love it.

Don't really care about the Regular Season. It's too long and Home Court doesn't seem to matter as much. What the tournament is doing for me is that each game feels like a "Win or go home" and the QF's and later will seem like playoff games. The players care....even if not for themselves, for the guys on the bench who don't make much. And even if it's not about the $$$, as a competitor, you want to win and this gives you something to play for early in the season.

The ratings are higher. So, fans are watching. And the crowds seem very engaged. The Sacramento crowd tonight will be bonkers. And the Las Vegas games will feel like final four games for the players. I wouldn't change anything other than naming the cup.

I'm a fan. I cared more about the game last week against the Wizards then I would have in previous seasons. I think it also seems to be gaining quite a bit of traction among players, fans, and the media so winning the 1st one would be really cool. I'd also add I think pretty much any game once you get to the knockout bracket will be a better postseason test than 99% of random regular season games.

The regular season was most certainly broken

Not for me. I can watch turn on TV pretty much every night and enjoy watching a game. All they have to do is figure out the rest/load management. Other than that the NBA product is the most consistent of all major sports.

I guess we'll see what the prices look like when it gets closer. But you're in the door for under $200 it seems, which for NBA in LV seems as expected.

Also, for the Knights hockey there is a standing room area that's cool. Its not overcrowded and have your own bar, food, and bathrooms. Its the upper deck but its fine/good enough if you're trying to go on a budget. Basically like being at a bar but in the stadium and can see the court. I assume they'd do the same for these games. For example on prices, I went to two WCF games (maybe it was The Finals but I think WCF) to get an upper deck corner real seat it was for sure over $200 and I'm pretty sure over $300 if not more(then tack on fees bs). These bar tickets were like $85 after fees. If it was a Bucks game I'd probably pay up for real seats, if its teams I didn't care about and the price diff was that much I'd probably go that route. Cheapest packers at raiders tickets were above $400 for worst seats in the building.

Well the good news for you is the in season tourney doesn't do anything to change your regular season viewing experience except for the weird courts.

I love it. It’s going to be a pretty big deal once this cup gets some history and gets refined over the years. Already love the crazy courts and the weird jerseys to spice up the regular season.

Add on some more monetary and playoff seeding incentives, and it could be huge. Plus, it gives the fans of lesser teams that do well in the cup something tangible to celebrate, given that winning a title is so unbelievably difficult.

I care about all games that count towards W/L record. Giannis can care about the title game to help sell the AntetokounBros "I'm a winner" T-shirt.

I thought it was kinda a lame idea at first

but you can't deny it's made some random games in november much more fun than they would otherwise be

So if the Bucks make the final game you won't watch because it's the one game of the whole thing that doesn't count for the regular season record?

I want to like it, at the moment I haven’t paid much attention to it aside from the mostly ugly floors. If Boston or Miami end up going deep I probably wont be too interested. Hopefully a fun young team makes it to the championship

Depends on the tourney. But having bragging rights to trophies is something fans jaw about all the time. Champions League (European wide club tourney), Europa, Conference League are all pretty big. But things like Carabao Cup (England only tourney) usually get B/C squads for the bigger clubs.

Judging from the poll, majority like it and a few more at the very least don’t hate it or are on the fence yet. I kind of thought it be more 50/50 yes vs no.

I'd watch to see how the team treats it but wouldn't care if they lost.

You won't feel that way if we made the final and you watched the other team lift a trophy.
