I'll be happy with either of these guys. I think both of them are in another tier from all the other QB's in the draft, and will be such a huge upgrade.

Neither of these guys are better prospects than Justin was coming out of college. Just because it’s new doesn’t mean it’s better or a huge upgrade. Just has his faults for sure but don’t make it seem like it’s all on him. We could easily fail these guys as well given our current structure.

Coming out of college, Trevor Lawrence was a better prospect than Justin Fields. Lawrence went #1. Justin went #11, sinking like a stone until Ryan Pace traded up. Who knows how much further Fields would have fallen if not for Pace. Scouts were obviously onto Justin's processing and mechanics issues. Similarly, if Caleb Williams and Drake Maye go in the top 3, they will also be better prospects by definition. Which of course means they have to prove their worth just like everyone else. Check Zach Wilson. But their pre draft prospect status will reflect their respective draft positions

Tons of reports stated that at the latest he would’ve went 14 to Minnesota and that’s why we traded up for him because we knew that. If not 15 to the Pats at the latest. Yes he dropped but would you take the two other QBs taken ahead of him, not names Trevor? Given that logic, we would be better off with Zach or Lance. Lance and Zach was reported to be faster processors and look where they are now.

I question if you read my post carefully.

Boil it down. The way things look now, compared to Maye and Williams, Fields was not the equal prospect you asserted that he was. Not in terms of pro draft evaluations. On the flip side, if Williams and Maye also drop significantly in the draft, you would then be shown to be correct in your original assertion.

It seems like Steelers fans want to fire Mike tomlin every year for the past 4/5 seasons. If for whatever reason he does get let go, he’s 10000% my top choice for head coach. I don’t think it’s happening but they fired a coach in the middle of the season for the first time since like the 1940s so who knows.

We’re all assuming bears finish with the first pick. If we finish with the second, do those who want Williams over fields draft maye or keep fields

By all means, go with Maye. As that video I posted earlier shows, he's better than Caleb in some areas- throws a more accurate ball in general, and esp. a more accurate deep ball, is likely better at reading defenses, because he's asked to do that more at UNC, and of course has 3-4 inches on Caleb. So there's not much of a drop-off if you had to take him instead. Caleb just seems to possess a bit more of the "wow" factor, making more incredible throws, being more elusive, etc.

I would also take Daniels, Nix, or Penix over Fields. Maybe McCarthy.

I haven't done a deep dive on Maye yet, but I'm wondering if it would be better to take MHJ with the #2 and draft one of the other QB's with our pick. Maybe someone like Nix, Penix, or Daniels?

Totally agree. I can only hope someone like Tomlin becomes available due to having to coach a crap team, but still being able to keep them around .500 by some miracle.

None of these guys other than Daniels have shown anything close to being a starter in the NFL. If you ant to move on from fields fine, but taking a qb for the sake of taking a qb, sets your franchise back. You’d be better off moving forward with bagent

The Patriots seem more ready to play. But that’s not saying much

of course it should. he's already looking like a value contract. find another one at a different position. there isn't even a guarantee that bowers will be better
