Man the way some of you go on about last year, it’s like Embiid put up 11-6-4 on 24% shooting on the 11th seed and got MVP. Let it go, we are watching 2 elite (potentially all time great) centres… it’s ok to be a Jokic fan (like I am) and give Embiid his props.
Embiid is front runner for MVP right now - but he still has to stay healthy and replicate his regular season play in the post season to be viewed at the same level as Joker (both of the those statements can be true, and I’m sure the hardcore Philly fans on here agree).

100% agreed. Embiid IMO is MVP right now, but Jokic is the better player because of his body of work and his ability to raise his game to another level in the playoffs.

We know how this works. MVP doesn’t mean best player in the game.

He really is, but this is where his antics, mostly begging for an MVP, come to bite him. In normal circumstances, the season Embiid is having would get him praised, commended, applauded and heralded as the MVP. However, after last year, the best play of his life is surrounded by crickets and hardly anyone is interested.
Funny how that goes.
Surrounded by crickets?? He is 1st on the MVP Ladder and is probably the front runner for MVP this season. Thats hardly crickets. He’s certainly the favorite for east player of the month putting up GOAT level numbers this month. If he continues his current play for the rest of the season which he should, with his consistency he should definitely win MVP. Giannis and Jokic just haven’t been as consistent as Embiid this season and he’s won 80% of the games he’s played so far this season.
Ive never seen a player as good as Embiid get vilified/slandered so much by the fans as much as does. You would have thought he killed their beloved pet dog. Sure Kobe and Lebron in there younger heyday were subject to hate but they also had huge fanbase to defend them. Embiid not so much.
If Embiid wins mvp again this season this board is gonna implode lol. However I do feel if Embiid wins mvp and actually carry his team past 2nd rd to nba finals we might see some ppl here come around and give him his flowers.

Well you can thank Hussien Fatal and Eyeatoma for constantly showing Embiid down our throats. At some point people do get upset and annoyed by that. Also, Embiid having a track record of ducking top players doesn't help his case either.

No we keep the balance on here so it doesn't become a complete Jokic slobberfest.

It’s not because of posters. It’s because of Embiid himself. The way he plays the game and the way he showboats makes people not like him.

I think only Jokic Stan’s dislike Embiid. I never hear this in real life. Embiid is one of the most skilled centers ever, most people like him

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

There is a whole world out there. It's certainly not because of any realgm users.
Embiid has some things that make him a villain:
- Flopping
- Injuries (not his fault) and "dodging teams" (allegedly)
- Some playoff losses, particularly against the Raps and crying was turned into a meme (very harsh)
- His social media activity where he is/was apparently trollish
- Playing in Philadelphia, typically people hate on Philly
TL;DR
Embiid needs to win a title to be "respected" by the mass crowds. Until then, we'll always see this pattern of discussion.

I don't think the loss against the Raps is the top one, and no one hates him for crying. Atlanta 2021 and last year's game 7 are much worse.
Dodging Jokic last year was hilarious, like I couldn't believe it.
I'd also add to the list the awful campaigns by his PR team.

Yeah, this dude made a whole new account just to mock Jokic and then has the gall to say that Embiid is uniquely hated on this board. This is downright hilarious.

Lol at dodging Jokic…why would he dodge a player he dropped 47 and 18 on in a win? That just doesn’t add up. Also he is 5-2 vs Jokic so that doesn’t add up either. Embiid has Jokic’s number when they face off. So to suggest he dodges Jokic for no apparent reason is just ridiculous.

Do I work for the sixers medical team? No. Embiid has many nagging injuries some he plays through some he doesn’t. I don’t keep tabs on the injuries he sustains during the regular season. He missed 16 games last season you think I remember every injury that kept him out of each of those 16 games? If you want I’m sure you can find that answer on Google.
But like I said it makes zero sense for him to dodge a player that he absolutely destroyed in their last matchup.

He played 13 games in a row including a b2b two days before that one, and then another 5 games right after.
He made a joke of himself. An act of cowardice after begging for respect. That's an eternal shame. He didn't even have the dignity to apologize to his fans.

Lol what a ridiculous post. He gave Jokic 47 and 18 and you seriously think he was scared to match up with Jokic again? He literally ripped Jokic a new one but he’s afraid to play against Jokic a player he routinely dominates.

Did you watch that game or just read the box score? Serious question btw.
Jokic was ripping Embiid a new one before halftime. It was only after Doc Rivers realized Embiid couldn't keep up with Jokic defensively and put Tucker (who DID shut Jokic down tbf) that I saw Embiid go off because he could focus on just scoring the ball and guarding an impotent Aaron Gordon and help out on Jokic...whereas Jokic was both the hub on offense and guarding Embiid on defense.
Your takes are obviously always going to be pro-76ers and only going to be +1 by a handful of posters (Chokic, eyeatoma, Hotel Vitale, and Bum Adebayo) but I guarantee if you came across as less biased you'd have a well balanced and respected viewpoint that would draw more positive replies.

Watch the entire game. Embiid absolutely cooked Jokic. Jokic just could not guard Embiid at all! Joel feasted on him the entire game. Jokic only had 23 points and 9 rebounds Embiid literally doubled his production across the board. But we can pretend that Jokic cooked Embiid.

Here is the PBP of the game, Jokic was dominating the game until Doc switched PJT on Jokic, and let Embiid roam, and it turned around the game, Nuggets were up 12 late in the 3rd.
