Did you watch that game or just read the box score? Serious question btw.

Jokic was ripping Embiid a new one before halftime. It was only after Doc Rivers realized Embiid couldn't keep up with Jokic defensively and put Tucker (who DID shut Jokic down tbf) that I saw Embiid go off because he could focus on just scoring the ball and guarding an impotent Aaron Gordon and help out on Jokic...whereas Jokic was both the hub on offense and guarding Embiid on defense.

Your takes are obviously always going to be pro-76ers and only going to be +1 by a handful of posters (Chokic, eyeatoma, Hotel Vitale, and Bum Adebayo) but I guarantee if you came across as less biased you'd have a well balanced and respected viewpoint that would draw more positive replies.

Watch the entire game. Embiid absolutely cooked Jokic. Jokic just could not guard Embiid at all! Joel feasted on him the entire game. Jokic only had 23 points and 9 rebounds Embiid literally doubled his production across the board. But we can pretend that Jokic cooked Embiid.

Again, Embiid got removed from Jokic because pre-halftime Jokic was cooking him. It was only when Doc Rivers realized Embiid stood no chance and put Tucker on him that Embiid started going off. Why? Because he got to focus on playing offense only while Jokic was the one playing two ways.

Remember game 7 against the Celtics last year? Or game 7 against the Raptors? Why do these teams manage to shut him down? Because their bigs get to focus entirely on playing defense and Embiid isn't smart enough to be a high level playmaker capable of punishing them nor does he get the usual tick tack fouls. It's why he's probably got the worst drop off in performance from regular season to playoffs in NBA history.

Think it's pretty clearly SGA right now with the first quarter of the season in the books.

- Absurd box numbers (check)
- Absurd impact/on-off numbers (check)
- Team impact/record better than his closest contemporaries (check)

SGA
Embiid
Jokic
Giannis
Haliburton

Only real quandary I had was between Hali and Luka for #5.

Jokic is still leading the MVP race. Anyone with eyes can see that the only way to impede his dominance is outright corruption.

Do I work for the sixers medical team? No. Embiid has many nagging injuries some he plays through some he doesn’t. I don’t keep tabs on the injuries he sustains during the regular season. He missed 16 games last season you think I remember every injury that kept him out of each of those 16 games? If you want I’m sure you can find that answer on Google.

But like I said it makes zero sense for him to dodge a player that he absolutely destroyed in their last matchup.

He played 13 games in a row including a b2b two days before that one, and then another 5 games right after.

He made a joke of himself. An act of cowardice after begging for respect. That's an eternal shame. He didn't even have the dignity to apologize to his fans.

Lol what a ridiculous post. He gave Jokic 47 and 18 and you seriously think he was scared to match up with Jokic again? He literally ripped Jokic a new one but he’s afraid to play against Jokic a player he routinely dominates.

Yes, he was scared to play because he didn't believe he could beat him again. His awful PR campaign and ESPN made him an undeserved frontrunner at the time, and he was afraid that losing that game would jeopardize his chances of winning the MVP award.

That makes him a coward. The worst thing is that he betrayed his fans. Let me show some comments from his most loyal fans on these boards:

I have been one of the biggest Embiid supporters - both in this thread and on the GB.

He HAD to play tonight. And that passive-aggressive interview with Shams on the eve of this matchup? And then to sit TONIGHT?

Inexcusable. Fine with either Jokic or Giannis winning it.

And that "routinely" is one single fluke regular season game where the Nuggets were outcoached. It's sad that that one regular season game is 30yo Embiid's biggest career achievement.

Which people are discredited by this, other than Joel Embiid? I just wanted to show what his fans had to go through (disbelief, anger and acceptance that eventually turned into denial) because of his misdeeds.

Misdeeds... you make it seem like he's a mass murderer. Feel like you're a little too obsessed with finding fault in him. Just enjoy his game man. Dude red shirted his first 2 seasons and has been one of the top 3 players on the planet the last 3 years.

Jokic getting ejected twice now really hurt his #s, but make no mistake: there is no better player on the planet.

Never said Embiid is better. That doesn't mean he doesn't deserve the MVP. Who is better will only be determined in the playoffs and right now that's Joker.

Facts. Everybody knows this. Guy bring his lunch pail to work and gets the job done night in, night out. No glitz, no glamour and certainly no “pity me” interviews with friends in the media throwing shade at the guys nipping at his heels.

You know what else hurts him?

Deandre Jordan gets activated and they beat the Clippers and now the Bulls. Both on the road.

Yeah because Jordan gets the Embiid whistle: 21 free throws to 15 shots in those 2 games.

Meanwhile Jokic has two bloody arms in most games and anywhere between 2 and 4 free throws.

Again, the worst or second worst officiated superstar of all time with LeBron. These guys should be going to the line 12-16 times a night.

A soft jumpshooter like Nowitzki was going to the line 7-9 times a night in his prime. Make it make sense.

Embiid 41 in 31 minutes. Not sure how anybody doesn’t have him as the front runner. On the season he’s scoring just under a point per minute just absurd production and impact.

I don't think he does. In their last 4 games:

Embiid scored 163 points in 97 shots
Jokic scored 74 points in 76 shots
