Lol Myles Turner “I like that I like that.” Giannis is a hot head but he did drop 64. Overall he’s a cooler guy if he didn’t give a F and it was just another game to him. That’s why Jokic is the man.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Funny, I looked at the GSW board today mostly to see the takes on Draymond (they are almost unanimously sick of him). And discovered a lot of their fans are ready to move on from Kerr too.

Walt, the mainstream scouting talk about Podz was that he's a slow white player from a bad D1 program worthy of a selection in the 20's when all of his advanced metrics were through the roof and he was taking CHARGES at the draft COMBINE scrimmages.

Leading up to the final month of the draft I watched hours of footage and read statements made by students and others involved in the Santa Clara basketball program. One of the criticisms made is that he is a "cocky" guy (Steve Kerr even acknowledges this now) who routinely got angry at his teammates. Instead of viewing this negatively as Masai likely does (would rather a lanky friendly goofy kid who can make Donald Duck noises) it should only be viewed positively that a player holds himself and his teammates to a high standard because of an immense desire to win. The Raptors have lacked accountability and leadership since Lowry left, some badasses on the team are what we need (Pascal, OG, GTJ, Precious... all soft and quiet players).

Oh and then there's the fact Podziemski leading up to the draft had only been playing organized basketball for SIX YEARS and already was showing prodigious shooting ability and basketball IQ. He has a photographic memory and is a sponge and tremendous student of the game.

Now you watch him blow by Rudy Gobert and take NBA players off the dribble and know for a fact the "slow white guard" criticisms were absolute BS. I would trade both Pascal and OG to GSW just to acquire him. He is the #1 target for me, not Mathurin, not Murray, not anyone else. Empty the clip and build around Podz and Barnes. Send cash, draft picks, anything. He can create his own offense routinely and score from every single spot on the court, he is a freak and makes winning plays all over. An absolute joy to watch - Tyler Herro won't be able to hold his jock in a couple of years.

Both GSW and the Raps are in shambles, there is a window of opportunity here to make a deal.

Clippers 6 straight, Harden 28, Kawhi 27, Norm 21.

Good thing Gary is younger than Norm

The irony is that these are the higher standards Masai was pleading with Raptors fans to have. Most of their fans are ready to move on from Klay also (he IS cooked). If Masai had delivered 4 titles, we would have a thread in here asking if he should run for PM, and it wouldn't be in jest.

It is huge news that he is out. Mobley has not been playing much lately due to knee soreness. Mitchell is really up and down this year.

This article sums them up well:

“Their energy, their body language, their swagger — it was just pitiful,” the exec told Bulpett. “It was so bad. I’ve never seen a team that good have such bad body language.

“They’ve got real talent, but you could just see it early in the series that they had no confidence in one another. Just no swagger. Even in front of their home crowd. Nothing.”

I wonder how long the patience will be in Cleveland. They spent a lot this offseason, have great depth but the injuries are killing them. Maybe they could get desperate for a trade.

From Wiretap:
The Utah Jazz reportedly no longer consider Lauri Markkanen untouchable in a potential trade, but they would maintain a high price.

The Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks and Oklahoma City Thunder are considered to be the three teams who most highly value Markkanen, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

“Do I expect Utah to trade Lauri? No,” another general manager told Yahoo Sports. “But they are saying they’re willing to listen. They are willing to listen to calls on everyone, but it’s a matter of meeting their price like Minnesota did for Rudy [Gobert].”

Now, I am going to beat the dead horse, but Toronto should do everything other than trade Scottie to get Lauri. The guy is in his prime, a perfect with with Scottie, and adds more size.

I am sure the Jazz would want OG and picks, and we should strongly consider it, or a three-way with GSW and Siakam going out to the Warriors and a bunch of picks and prospects to Jazz.

The issue is, Warriors would rather have Lauri over Siakam.

Lauri is great, but he is not necessarily a championship window piece. If you are building for Curry and Klay and Draymond is a wild card then you want Siakam who would probably be the best second/third banana you can get for one more kick at the title. Siakam is just going to be a better defender and pseudo PG like Draymond is, but of course Siakam is much better scoring threat and overall reliable to be an impact in the playoffs.

Would rather have Lauri if I’m the Warriors. More efficient scorer and a way better fit.

Siakam/Draymond and Looney as your front court sounds like a nightmare that goes against everything that made the Warriors so good.

I don’t think the gap between Siakam and Lauri is that wide at all. They’re in the same tier to me.

I was curious to see what the Pistons schedule was like, as they have lost 21 in a row, and it looks like they'll likely not only set an NBA record for consecutive losses, it wouldn't surprise me if they set an NBA record for losses in a season. It must be so depressing being a Pistons fan.
