I would love to get KAT. Murray, Capela and Hunter for KAT plus a starting quality SG would be my choice.
Trae / bigger shooting SG / JJ / OO / KAT

Re: Atlanta Hawks Trade Proposal Thread -- Part IV
I'm all for trading for PG, but this is too much draft capital for an oft-injured 33 year old approaching the end of his contract.

He is expiring (next year is a player option) too.

Re: Atlanta Hawks Trade Proposal Thread -- Part IV
Is this the oversized, floor spacing PF to pair next to Okongwu/Capela?
If we're trying to win now, a Capela/Jalen/Lauri front court is a worthy rotation.

I don't trust him to resign.dms269 wrote:Jamaaliver wrote:I'm all for trading for PG, but this is too much draft capital for an oft-injured 33 year old approaching the end of his contract.

He wanted to be in LA so I'm assuming he'll want to stay. We move value for him and I expect him to have no intentions on staying.
One thing during the bubble I noticed is that he doesn't do well being away from his three children. Two girls and his youngest is the son. How the NBA these days we must take into account everything because players like Paul George control their world.

Nicolas Claxton interest me and he's a free agent. Anyway of bringing him back to Georgia via trade before the deadline?

Re: Atlanta Hawks Trade Proposal Thread -- Part IV
I've been thinking more and more about this trade:
De'Andre Hunter and Patty Mills for Jerami Grant.
Portland gets the younger Hunter to grow with their young team and they get out of Grant's long term deal and save money going forward.
Hawks get more athleticism hustle and ball handling, a more dynamic player. Not sure what Grant's defense looks like these days, his rebounding is similar to Hunter's though. Shooting 40.7% from 3. I don't think he's played SF in awhile but don't really care at the moment. Maybe he can be our psuedo 'Aaron Gordon' where he can excel in a more limited role as opposed to a top end scorer on a bad team.
He would cost $10 million less than Siakam this season and $13 million less next season.

It isn't a bad deal, but I do not like that Jerami Grant contract at all.
Also, when's the last time that dude actually made the playoffs?
My take from a distance: He's a paper chaser who averaged only 12 ppg in his last post season.

Don't like the contract much either, but also don't like giving up more stuff to pay Siakam 4yrs/$192 million....
Maybe Grant is sick of losing, now that he has his last big contract.

Re: Atlanta Hawks Trade Proposal Thread -- Part IV
The only trade that I want to see is one that improves the front-court and makes us bigger. I like JJ at the 3. Markkanen would be great...next to a 7'0"+ center would be even better
I would have Hunter, Murray, Capela, AJ, Bufkin and expirings on the table....maybe even OO if it meant bringing in Markkanen at PF, a bigger SG and C
Bring in a bigger more versatile front-court and a bigger, better shooting SG

I hope it isn't an either/or situation.
Cause we'd be right back hating those dudes and wishing them off our team in a matter of years (months?)

Man, why was the part 3 thread closed with a low-blow against kg. Depriving him of the chance to respond in kind?

Yeah, I was just thinking about Bogey. Nothing wrong with:
Trae / Bogey / JJ / Markkanen / BIG C
Thing is though, if we trading CC / Murray / Hunter / AJ / Kobe and maybe even OO whom I would rather keep and develop more as a 4/ 5 then we can definately bring in a nice starting SG and a defensive big center to play with Trae / JJ / Markkanen

This Bogey is not and has never played SG.
SF but more PF the past few years.

Re: Atlanta Hawks Trade Proposal Thread -- Part IV
A reminder that the Hawks spent a combined 13 draft picks for DeAndre Hunter, DeJounte Murray and Saddiq Bey.

I am ready for the trade deadline to pass so we can stop seeing suggestions of Siakam for Murray +.

I noticed this was the new trend for Siakam to Atlanta.
