It's more of GSW forcing the Cs to put him in a position to guard them.

No, I don't mean replace him. Stash him in a corner. Pre-switch just so he's away from the play. Other teams do it. We've done it in past seasons. We have guards who can fight through screens and chase. Try something else other than Horford on a drop or in an island.

I think that's really one of the flaws of this Celtic defense.

Because they run sets with screens and DHOs that force a switch. The same reason why Jaylen kept getting Curry even though they tried to hide him on Hauser or Pritchard. You can try to cover for that by simply refusing to switch (like the Hawks do a lot with Trae) or trapping and scrambling (dangerous because Curry has one of the best handles ever) or peel switching (dangerous because Curry is so good at finding the open man) or just don't play Horford and put Lamar or Brissett in (dangerous because they are probably also getting beat and they are worse at other things) or whatever. I just don't see a straight forward solution to defending Curry. You can't take the ball out of his hands like you can with guys like Dame since he's so good at relocating and getting the ball back.

I'd rather we give up a two than a three. We gave up four threes in a span of two minutes. If they make a layup, so be it. Try to get the ball out of Curry's hands and be better at ball denial.

I know Horford is still decent in isolation perimeter defense, but this is Curry and Klay. We got to try something else. Or were we just hoping they miss?

Lay-off Tatum. The man rolled his ankle and played literally a whole game's worth of minutes immediately after.

Lay-off Al. Joe had no business leaving him out there 38 minutes.

Queta played great for 21 minutes. Joe should have given him another 7 NEAR THE END, and there would not have been Overtime.

Al was spent, demonstrated too often by the rebounds Al was near but couldn't secure. Joe was stupid, which is nothing new.

He's in a lose-lose situation. They sit him after he sprains his ankle, people will call him soft for not fighting through the injury. He plays through the pain but doesn't deliver, people will say he should've just sat. (I'm among the former.)

Unfortunate that fans will remember this game and game 7 vs. the Heat over any other series/games where he DID deliver.

Having said that, I still have an issue with him settling for his pullup three which has been poop past two seasons lol.

It would've been the same shot probably. It's not an ATO situation where you draw up a play for a shot since that gives Curry a chance to win it. So they probably inbound it then get it to Tatum who holds it for the final shot.

Not the first time this has happened this season. Wolves game where JB missed a three before the buzzer.

If we do call a timeout, it will still be an iso where we make sure there's no time left on the clock when we attempt a shot. Don't want to leave even a second if we miss.

So really, it's up to Tatum (or whoever will take the final shot) to get a decent look with or without a timeout. Just so happens they're programmed to take a three in most of these situations.
