who is the best we can get with those salaries added ?
I am down getting ex Boston's Smart + Grant Williams for example

Smart and Williams are on different teams now. That would be a challenging couple of moves. Any 3&D player we bring in needs to be not much worse from three than Beasley, otherwise we will sacrifice a lot of the spacing benefit he gives on offense.

looking at some shooting numbers and i dont think people understand how much headroom our offense has for improvement. Giannis is doing his thing for sure, but both Dame and Khris are still due for positive regression. Khris is on point from the mid range but hasn't found his 3 ball (or FT shooting) yet while Dame is still down across the board. We're about to send this thing into the stratosphere.

I get the appeal of AJJ, but he definitely still has a ways to go. A stat I found interesting: In 206 minutes this year, he has committed 38 fouls. In those same minutes, he has 5 total steals and blocks (and they're all steals). That is 1:7.6 stock-to-foul ratio on the season. Not great, Bob.

completely agree. right now hes basically a rookie version of thanasis defensively

theres a ton of upside there tho

Way more IQ.. he isn't near as a spaz

youre right about pat youre wrong about brook. every time bobby is on the court without giannis were broke as dick. brook on his own, even with bobby, at least holds it together even if we lose some points

i thin his IQ is more so on offense. defensively, he does show some anticipation at times but nothing special there quite yet aside from being able to stay in front of more athletic guys.

Negative regression could also occur for Khris in terms of his midrange so I think he’s a wash. Agree on Dame, however I could see this being not much of a change, seems he’s fine with taking pretty contested shots relative to Giannis and as he ages this low 40s shooting may be closer to the norm unless he finds a way to get and take mostly open shots.

Our starters are better than the bench. More breaking news at 10.

Right; compare AJJ as starter in 2 games vs. Beasley in 2 games starting. You'd gain more relevant #s for gauging players & lineups.

Funny enough AJJ's on/off those two starting games? -44.2.

Beasley's numbers aren't going away just because you don't like them.

Bucks have a better net rating with Bobby on than Brook on. The defense is worse, but the offense is awesome with Bobby.

We don't need to turn our team upside down to upgrade, just get Kris Dunn. Easy acquisition, checks multiple boxes.

Completely skewed by Bobby's big points games vs bad teams. All you need to do is watch the games to see that Brook is 70% of the defense and its a layup line when he's out and Bobby is in.

Going by eye test alone it's difficult to picture a world where our offense takes a downturn because we don't have Bobby.

The wheels completely falling off the defense by trading Brook is a different story.

If Lofton cleared waivers I’d sign him to two way and dump Bolden and/or Wiggs

We definitely need a a defensive wing or two but the type of player we need probably doesn't require Brook to get.

It is completely logical to believe Brook should not be traded the same way Bud was should not be replaced, the same way Jrue is irreplaceable etc. I love them all BUT my expertise basketball mind refuses to settle on narrattives drawn by non expertise people like journalists, managers etc.
I see Brook and Pat ( a small part Khris too ) as trojan horses that have been already exploited after the ring winning years ago. The teams that exploited it are the same, Boston and the Heat. We should turn the corner and step on it cause we are already old and we just got a straight line super car, Lillard, that has only a 2 year guarantee.

I just hate the fact that Brook demands the drop defense ... I hate the drop defense ... maybe Grif applies a variation of it that will make it harded to exploit BUT I think it is a "hardware" fail , not software.

If we try to replace Brook with somebody who is different and not good, we would be in trouble. If we replace him with somebody who is different and good, we would be fine. As always, the key is good players.

The offensive rating with Bobby ondid not change during his recent big scoring games.

Yes, we give up a ton more layups when Brook is out, and the defense is better with him, but when he out we are better defending in other areas, so it's not the disaster the eye test suggests.
