Embiid absolutely blowing the field out with EPM.

.8 above SGA, and 3 over Jokic and the competitors.

As others have said, he's the MVP right now. He doesn't need to produce 35 ppg to win. If he goes at 32-33 for the rest of the season with 62-65 TS and the Sixers win 80 percent of their games, this is his to lose.

I mean even Sixers fans gotta admit that's a SOFT schedule there...I mean the Sixers faced a stretch of 5 in 6 games where the opponent had a combined win total of 12

And his highest score (51) was against the number one team in the west. You are really reaching atm.

It was a soft schedule, but if Joel really wanted to he could've averaged 50 during that stretch of games, even with the Bulls game where he pulled off 40+ and 10+.

He's on a streak right now that was last done by Kareem with a Bucks uniform.

That’s the thing. Those saying his stats are artificially high because he played bad teams are conveniently ignoring the fact that was playing 30 minutes a game during that stretch. It equals itself out in the end.

Tonight (Dec 20, 2023 vs Raptors): Nuggets had 0 free throws as a team halfway through the third quarter, FYI. 40 points in the paint and 0 FTs...meanwhile there's guys who are getting free throws on flops, offensive fouls, etc. The Nuggets will almost certainly be a contender this year, but they're literally playing an uphill battle most nights going 5v8. The NBA is all about large markets and Denver threw a wrench into their plans by taking out LeBron and the Lakers, Durant and the Suns, and Butler and the Heat. If they received the calls other (big market) teams do, we're talking about a 65 win team...

Keep the composure Cubes. It's a tough stretch. But hang on in there.

Is there anyway to hold referees accountable for holding players to different standards? Is there anything that player B should be doing that would lead to a more favorable whistle?

Embiid is also intelligent. Check out how many shots he puts up in the 3rd quarter when he knows he won't play the 4th. He ups his FGA attempts compared to games that are closer. He's gonna get his because he knows he'll sit the 4th quarter. Very intelligent player :) Goes back a couple seasons IIRC...

It could be coincidence though!

Pretty decisive at this juncture. Still 3/4s of a season left.

Guess Perkins has been hard at work with the Embiid narrative eh...

Wish we had a MVP thread to put these in.....

But can't argue with the results. It's a long season though and anything can happen. Jokic/Embiid/Giannis have showed they are the top 3 for 4+ straight seasons, which is kind of amazing for the era of guards.

It's literally fact-checkable lol. Y'all say Jokic stays in until he gets a triple double (despite literally leading league in 'Sombor Doubles' AKA going to the bench before hitting 10 assists or rebounds...being 1 shy for like the last 4 years lol).

That's not a "new low", but posting something that can be verified is? If I misunderstood the stats that I saw, please feel free to correct me.

I'd say the strawpoll deserves it's own thread but what do I know...

Arguably, too many Embiid topics, where it just becomes redundant.

If there weren't so many, then yes, obviously would be fine.

Nothing against the topic per se... simply a question of being reasonable and not having 2-3-4-5 topics on the first two or three pages or last day or three.

Less decisive than I thought it would be, expected 80+ 1st place votes, I'd also rate Giannis higher than Jokic.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

It's by design.

Embiid scores in the 1st and the 3rd and Maxey the 2nd and the 4th.

Maxey has a very low average in the 1st quarter.

It's something Nurse is working on but essentially Maxey wants to get his guys going at the start of the game and at the start of the 2nd half.
