I do not believe a single Lavine rumor coming out of Shams mouth.

Re: 76ers 2023-24 Season Thread Part 1
OG's career win shares are most comparable to Stromile Swift, Tim Thomas, and Andres Nocioni. Do we really want to pay $40 mil/year plus picks for that?

OG is a good player. Will cost more than he's worth though.

Maybe it's temporary, but is anyone concerned that OG is currently playing like crap and has been for a pretty good chunk of time?

I'm more concerned that he's a bit overrated, but he's mostly just played like crap for the last 3 games. Although the inconsistency isn't great. I don't really think he's that much better than Tobi for the price though

If it's something like one 1st and two 2nds, then sure. But multiple 1sts is too much for a player of his caliber.
To your point, Masai will ask for and probably get more.

Re: 76ers 2023-24 Season Thread Part 1
OG would be a great addition to the team.
OG would also be the most hated player on the team after getting paid in the off-season.
His elite defense and solid shooting would be extremely helpful, but he'd catch so much **** for his (lack of) offensive game around here, particularly if paid like a star.

Yeah for sure he d be a great role player, nobody can deny that. But only him as an addition wont get you over the hump, or at least its still makes you extremely dependant on Biid and Maxey offensively, which makes a deep Playoff run unlikely.
The problem is hes going to get paid like a Superstar, plus you have to trade a good chunk of assets to get him right now. So basically he kills our ability to make other moves. Clearly its not worth it.
We just finally are going to get free from Tobias albatross contract, it would be very dumb to get inmediatly into a similar one.

Maybe Sixers go the rental route. I think Bojan Bogdonovic and Brogdon would be good archetypes that hopefully wouldn't cost too much for their flaws. Also, their contracts are manageable. Could Tobias and some 2nds get it done?

You might get Siakam for that but OG probably not. Both with be available during the summer but the reality is that nothing is guaranteed with Embiid. In my world we do nothing major, keep our assets and cap flexibility intact, maybe make a minor trade here and there and in the off season we make a major splash in free agency. And next year we go and win a title. But it won't work out that way it never does. Embiid is play well, Maxey is playing well strike while the iron is hot.

I'd almost be more open to Siakam than OG because Pascal is actually a skilled offensive player. However, his fit is worse, even if we traded Tobias for him.

The hate for Jo last year was strong. If you haven't please vote for him and Maxey daily for the all star game. It was such a farce that the top scorer in the league last year wasn't a starter on the all star team until LeBron picked him.

Philly 100% dangling him. They are trying to elevate his value, especially given how ass he's been. If there is a deal to be had, he'll be gone.

I think we ultimately keep Tobias for the rest of this season. There's no way we trade him unless it's for a big-time player in return. I think if we move anyone it will be Morris/Korkmaz and draft picks for an upgrade. It's obvious Nurse values versatile wing players and I don't see them letting go of Batum or Covington for that exact reason. Not unless he feels KJ Martin can replace them (I think he can, but not until next season). OG Anunoby would be an awesome addition to this team at any point. I do think we desperately need another guard on this roster that can at the very least create some offense in the halfcourt.

Hmm... I think Tobi really deserves it this year. We should start a campaign to get him selected.eyeatoma wrote:ProcessDoctor wrote:Sportfan73 wrote:

And this is why you pay Nurse the big money. Figure that chit out Nick figure it out.

It's all Morey smoke and mirrors. The target is CJ McCollum, who is probably tired of New Orleans by now. Two way scorer who still has athleticism and smarts and can fill up a stat-sheet. That and maybe a Thaddeus Young trade or buyout, with a chance of Boucher.

Yeah I love CJ McCollum. I mean he played college ball in my hometown. He's one of my favorite players in the game... But he's not a 2-way player.
