Stephen A. Smith did a good job with this Paolo interview. Didn’t ask him the usual questions. Caution, language.

I called it... we should have drafted Trayce Jackson Davis. The guy stepped up big for GS tonight and blocked Jaylen Brown massive dunk attempt.

Lots of similar Cs in this years draft. Could be a good opportunity to find a rotation Center on the cheap.

Man, has there been a less productive Magic rookie than Anthony Black? He's been gifted a starting role and just does nothing, statistically, night after night.

Another killer stat line last night in Milwaukee -- 20 minutes, 1 point, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.

Yes, he does things that "don't show up in the box score". But we need things that show up in the box score, like shooting and scoring.

The other lottery pick can't even stick on the roster. Bad draft.

Jett can't guard SGs in nba. I'm not sure he can even guard SFs in nba tbh.

Hard to disagree. Yes he is good defensively, but he cant give zero offensively especially seeing how hard its been for Franz and Paolo lately. Its possible that starting Howard and sending Black to the gleague would be better for the team (only in theory).
I wouldnt say bad draft, but bad use of the players so far.

It's funny how Black is becoming the scapegoat.

He is good, but he is a rookie. Do we want to win or do we want to give minutes to rookies ? We are given conflict messages. I dont think its fair towards Black.

Scapegoat ? Its obvious magic need an upgrade at point guard and black is not that guy right now maybe in a couple years but right now he isn’t good

I think being fans of the team and spending time on forums is all about (admittedly amateur) analysis and, often, criticism..."Scapegoat" and "Hating" getting thrown around way too quickly. It's pretty clear that the team has areas that need improvement and it's okay to talk about it.

I think he will be good but, at the moment, he's not giving ORL what they need offensively. Honestly, I see the defensive effort, the sliding of feet, and the lunging towards shooters - but I'm not really convinced his defense is that special (yet?). I'm definitely not saying it's bad, I'm just saying it's not automatically "elite" because he's clearly trying hard. The hair and the intensity and the flailing limbs look like something but I'm not sure about the results. Certainly not "locking down" guys that I've seen.

He's one more guy that is NOT easy to fit into a lineup because he can't shoot (or really score at all), so others must accommodate him. Ben Simmons was All-NBA, but you need to build around his strengths (I'm talking about before he fell apart). Black has not shown enough to make the FO or Coach look at that approach...similar to Fultz or the Thompsons. We can be patient. I'd like to keep him but if he's needed to get the right fit...
