We don’t know and never will know the real story, hearing Yankees did offer 300 for 10 years, so the AAV was actually higher then the Dodgers which is 325 not including the 50 mill posting fee.

He was going to the Dodgers no matter what they are closer to a World Series and a closer flight from Japan.

This supports my West Coast theory for Asian ballplayers. Not saying it's everything but it makes a difference. I'm surprised that the Mets didn't offer more.

AAV was higher, but that's not really what players think about. The Dodgers just got enough to technically beat out Gerritt Cole.

Tbh, it really just speaks to the damage Hal has done to the Yankees brand. Obviously, luck plays a role in 27 chips, but the Yankees really haven't tried for a while and that hurts the brand more than anything.

The Dodgers told Shohei they thought their last ten years were a failure...what do our leaders say? They make excuses. Then when they finally experience losing, they decide its time to get serious and spend.
