Maybe one day you'll figure out why the bench sucks. But probably not.

What are you even talking about?

Enough complaining

No, I’d rather you just tell me. Looking forward to seeing how this all connects to Neemias Queta.

Pistons play at home against the Nets tonight and in Boston on Thursday, before facing us on Saturday.

I already explained, you just choose to ignore it.

Yep I was saying that last year.

Boston spent 2 firsts and got White and Brogdan.

We spent 2 firsts and got Thad, Koloko, and Jakob.

We could have had our starting backcourt but instead we got half a season of mediocre bench play from Thad and Jakob.

That's not entirely true though as Boston spent a lot more than just 2 firsts. Nesmith has been really good for the Pacers (especially this season, averaging 11.5 PPG off the bench on 53% from the field and 46% behind the arc) while Theis and Richardson are/were both rotation players. The equivalent for us would be like giving up GTJ, Boucher and Achiuwa + the picks.

Aaron Nesmith
Daniel Theis
Romeo Langford
2022 1st
2023 1st
2028 1st swap

for White and Brogdan

Compared to

2022 1st (#20)
2024 1st (TBD)
A second (we gave up 2, but one was to shed Birch really as far as I know).

for

Poeltl
Koloko
Thad

Nesmith was essentially a 3rd 1st, and even Nesmith was a recent lottery pick. So they gave up 2 firsts, another swap (that might actually convey, who knows what 5 years does), and two recent lottery picks. We gave up 1 first and traded down 10 spots.

Nesmith was putting up 3.8 ppg and 1.7 rpg while shooting 38% and 27% at age 22. Kudos to the Pacers for turning him into a productive player. Thies was meh. Richardson was the only guy who was solid. It is definitely not equivalent to our 3 you listed.

The point remains. If they truly valued those two, they could of had them. Instead, they valued length and didn't worry about guard skills, age, etc.

Theis and Boucher are very comparable while GTJ and Richardson put up pretty similar numbers on a per-minute basis (19/3/2 per36 on 55 TS% vs 15/4/3 per36 on 57 TS%) in 21/22. Achiuwa had better numbers than Nesmith, but Nesmith was also playing behind Tatum/Brown and didn't have much opportunity in Boston. It's pretty comparable to what we would have needed to trade (a couple of rotation pieces and a prospect + picks).

You can argue they should have tried to acquire one of White/Brogdon, but it would have cost a heck of a lot more than Dragic + Birch + 2 1sts combo that we sent out for Thad + Poeltl.

Allen? Not good enough. Management would rather let UFAs walk for nothing.

Allen would easily be our best bench player, punchable face and all. His salary is also nothing by today's standards.

Allen was a way better fit then Dennis plus we get a future pick to help make up for the Yak trade. It was the right move to do.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

I agree with Theis and Boucher. But there was a big difference with Trent and Richardson at the time. Trent had/has the potential tag on him and he was a lot younger.

Nesmith looked more like a reclamation project. Hadn't done much and struggled. Kudos to the Pacers for hitting on that.

Plus our picks would of been valued a lot higher. Plus our 2 seconds.

At the end of the day, who cares. It's done with.

Pistons are up in the 4th! C'mon Nets, shape up. Only we can break the streak.

Bum ass Pistons ruined another Cade masterclass.

Eerily similar to how Scottie's teammates tend to let him down.
