Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
Tired of watching this team full of guys who cant play through injuries
Put everyone but Luka & Lively on the block. Exum/DJJ only if its an overpay
The unprotected pick swap for Grant WIlliams is indeed turning out to be a bad move

But where does that leave Hardy?
BWill is supposedly a very skilled true PG so the only thing that makes sense to me is that Hardy, Seth or THJ will be on the move because they all bring basically the same thing.
The Hardy PG experiment must be over.
His career path seems to be headed in the same path as Devonte Graham's.

Hardy at PG experiment was over in summer league.

So what was the purpose of signing Seth?
Basically play the same role.

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
I do like what I see in BWill though.
Dude is smooth and lightning quick.
Great court vision, passer and a natural scorer.
Defense doesn't look all that great but that is about par for our backcourt.
Definitely a true PG.
Just wondering why he couldn't get in the game last night.

Depth and they were certain THJ will be traded.
Hardy will never be the shooter Curry is, he should be better defender (size and athletecism) and should provide rim finishing, he regressed at the rim.

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
Grant started the season good but lately he's been really bad...I completely forgot Dallas gave SAS 2030 1st round pick ,for taking on Bullock, and if Grant doesn't pickup his game that could be another bad decision by the Mavs, since Bullock would have been an expirings, and they'd have an extra pick to strengthen the squad

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
Nevermind, it was a swap.... They don't have the right info on trade machine...I Guess a swap is better...that means that Dallas can trade 2025,2027 and 2031 1st rounder after the 2024 draft right? They probably shouldn't,but if they can get someone who really makes them a contender they could

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
It amazes me how the FO can't see the one major issue with this team.
Think about it.... out of 18 players we only have 3 guys that are 6'10 and over. One of them hasn't played all season and is basically washed up, another is a rookie, and the other is Powell.
On top of that, we only have 3 guys in the 6'8-6'9 range and one of them is an unplayable rookie, the other is a 34 yo washed up vet, and the other is about the 12th player on this team with mostly DNPs coach's decision.
Only one of the 6 guys 6'8 and over on this team has any business being in the rotation and he is a rookie.

Agreed, and they keep digging in. Clearly the biggest culprit is Cuban.
Powell (over the years), Maxi, and Green extensions were nonsensical. Cutting McGee for Markieff, why?

They're still InLove with the small ball lineups that made GS sucessfull, but GS had better players back then...we can see how well things are going for them now...Mavs replaced Bullock with Grant at PF...Grant is stronger but same size as Bullock and really slow...he has troubles against taller, more athletic PF, that's why he was relegated to the bench...Mavs are still trying to Play smallball even though the top teams in the league have moved away from it...small ball can be efective against certain teams(who have lesa skilled bigs) ,but against good teams you get destroyed in the paint and on the rebounds, which is a far too familiar thing to this team

All good points.
Denver's Frontline is 7'0/6'10/6'9
Minnesota's is 7'2/6'11/6'9
GSW is not the team to beat anymore.
With Jokic, Wemby, Chet, KAT, Kessler, Sobonas and some others in the West, Mavs need to beef up that Frontline. Putting the entire load on Lively is beyond irresponsible.

Yes...Boston(KP,Horford,Tatum),Bucks(Lopez,Giannis,Portis)...even the Clippers and Lakers have size advantage against the Mavs...Those are all teams have trouble playing against...remember how they strugled against Toronto

This is why I want Collins to solve the lack of size problems...plus Luka is a specialist in getting the best out of role players, he would bring back the best Collins and that is a very good starter...anyone interested in GWill+Green+ for JGrant?

The best option is a 3 way where Kyrie goes out, Pascal comes in

Pascal+ another ballhandler? Yes for sure... Pascal and then some Frank Ntilikina from the bench? no thanks.

Man, I don't want to be the one holding Siakam bird rights with DET and PHI having cap space, I don't think Siakam has anywhere near the value he's assigned on the trade board.
That would put a massive F on the Kyrie trade AFTER you secured him on excellent contract.

Yea definitely needed, but Pascal himself can handle a secondary ball handler role. In that hypothetical, figure u have to start THJ and Grant with them for spacing. Exum runs the 2nd unit

Agreed, I'd only do it if we could extend him right away

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
Exum seems to make Kyrie expendable in the right deal.
That would be very tricky to find the right deal though.
