I get that. It's just weird to care about Miami when the top teams in the East have changed so much. They obviously aren't making moves to compete with the team that is 4th in the East. No one is making moves to deal with Miami when teams like the Celtics, Bucks, and 76ers exist.

Which is exactly what I was saying. I said the deal makes a lot of sense if they believed Miami was the best team in the East and this was a move to try to pass them. But if that was their belief they've lost their minds.

I think if we give New York credit for moving assets that didn’t factor into future plans, then we should probably apply that same logic to Toronto as well.

Ultimately, I think both teams waited too long and missed out on some value (Toronto more so since OG is a UFA, and as a larger critique, since they let FVV walk, too).

I do like this for Toronto. Scottie looks back on track to being a really good player, and the best player of his draft class, and you get two dudes who would fit into that timeline.

Of the guys that we were talking about plenty in the off-season, and looking at their splits without their star teammate:

Quickley:
2023 without Brunson: 25.8, 5.8, 6.4 in 14 games

I think most of us had the least interest in Poole. It’s never really been about talent with him, but just egregious decision making. I don’t expect Quickly to hold those numbers, but I think a 20ppg scorer on decent efficiency while providing good defense is a very possible, and valuable, outcome.

I guess I don't understand why people say X first rounders as if they are all the same. Like they could be extremely protected or something like the 'worst of 3 OKCs first rounders' or for some reason people counting swaps as first. Like sure I could see OG getting 3 top 20 protected firsts. I would rather have quickly at that point.

Legitimately don't understand this "it doesn't make them a Top-3 team in the East so what's the point?" attitude. So like, they shouldn't go out and acquire awesome 26-year old 3&D guys? They gave up two dudes who probably weren't even a part of their future and zero first round picks. If there's already a handshake agreement on an extension in place, this is an absolute home run for the Knicks.

Donte popping off for 38 is as sure a sign as we’ll ever see that he doesn’t want to be the next one traded.

The Knicks extending McBride for yet another guard locked up keeps their backcourt looking fat still even after converting IQ and Barrett into more of a true SF in OG.

Raps probably could have got more last deadline although some of them supposed offers could have been leaked BS to try to drive up the price. Who knows maybe Barrett steps his game up going home and becomes a Canadian fan favorite. Quickly is fun.

My kid started watching every game around the 20 loss mark with a real “must see TV” passion that they were either going to get the record or snap the streak and it’d be a feel good thing. They’ve been constantly updating me that Cade does seem really good, I’ve only hopped on for the last couple and he really has impressed me- fun guy to watch play, and seems like a nice dude.

I was reading Knicks forum today. They want to use picks to get star and aim at Mitchel or Murray. I think they have good SG/SF rotation now with OG, DDV, Hart and that young guy. They should look to improve frontcourt more than anything IMO. If they do I would consider them serious.
