After recently travelling through some big American cities, New York, Phoenix area, Austin, I would never want to play in Toronto if I was an athlete. The whole “Toronto is a clean New York” statement is a complete lie. New York was way cooler, and cleaner, and less homeless

Dramatic much?
IQ is an RFA. We will pay him and he doesn’t get a choice.
He’s gonna get to be a lead guard here, he’ll get paid here, and hopefully also a chance to win in the playoffs.

I used to think this too, but then after almost a decade living in NYC, no longer think that
NYC winters are way better - you don't get those frigid -10 weeks, it stays warm enough for snow to melt quickly and not stay around after storms, and it is just generally those few degrees warmer that makes it way more tolerable than Toronto winters.
It was 16 degrees in February for almost a week in NYC last year. I will say they get some nasty storms like once every few years. We all remember the hurricane that went through there. Winter storms are crazy too when they happen. I can’t recall Toronto getting a 20 inch dumping of snow in many years. That can happen in NYC, though very rare of course
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars
Derozan

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

We need him to up his shot diet which I think it will based on 21 starts last year. We need RJ to reduce his shots.
Shots should be PS and SB 20/G IQ 18 RJB 13 JP 8 DS 10 GTJ 11 CB 5 GD 5. Need Gradey to get some run. Would like Freeman Liberty two get some run with big team until we can fill roster.

each city is different. Obviously there is only one new york. But Toronto is still somewhat comparable I mean with the caveat that each city is different and New York is a premium city for a reason.
Weather : very similar if I understand that New York is warmer. The difference between Toronto and NY is maybe somewhat like the difference between Montreal and Toronto.
Skyscraper: NY is #1 in the world and Toronto is I think #2 in North Americas.
Obviously there is some difference but someone does not look instantly out of place by moving from NYC to Toronto or vice versa.
Obviously NYC is bigger, warmer etc. but Toronto is arguably as close as its get to NYC.
There is a reason why many series are filmed in Toronto to represent NYC.

Per this website San Francisco is #12.
I don’t know how legit is this list. But bottom line is Toronto is having a lot of skyscrapers even if NY is a distant #1

Please, I have been to all parts around the globe. I have been to NYC many times in my life (I have family there). To each there own about how one feels about cities, but my point is NYC still has winter and snow (though they are a bit warmer, but it’s not like they have Miami or LA types of weather). Obviously we are not the same city, but I don’t think IQ will be in that much of a shock coming here.

I get the feeling that within a month he will be beloved by Raptors fans. He has the type of game lacking for so long and the swagger and personality Toronto generally gravitates towards.
I actually think it’s entirely possible he has a Brunson/Lowry type late All Star boom within a year. Very high on this deal.

Maxey is playing as the starters, IQ played most of the time against backups. Those numbers does not show the whole picture.

Re: Official Immanuel Quickley Thread
lots made of his scoring potential but i think he's gonna surprise even more on the defensive end
add on a dejounte as a backcourt partner and get a more switchable defensive big like an okongwu and we're back in business.

Am I crazy or is the list of truly dynamic guards in raptors history basically... Kyle, Damon.. Tj ford? IQ has the chance to be one of the best lead guards in franchise history.

By the way...
RJ Barrett ... 29.5 minutes per game
Quickley ... 24.0 minutes per game

RJ Barrett ... 29.5 minutes per game
Quickley ... 24.0 minutes per game

We all have different opinions, and that is one thing that makes this forum great.
