Firstly, OKC are really good, may be scary good in a year or two, the Clippers have basically gifted them a potential dynasty. Shai, J-Dub and Chet may well be a better big 3 than KD, Harden and Russ.

Defence was absolutely awful in this one until late. Holiday looked lost on both ends. Tatum on SGA really changed things.

Brown was awful. Tatum got going a bit late but he simply didn’t assert his authority on a game like an MVP level player should. SGA did in the third and it won them the game.

You just have to laugh at some of the shots Giddey was making. Certainly isn’t his thing at all usually.

Good to see Joe actually had the balls to bench a starter late in Holiday. Smart played late far too many times in the last two seasons when Derrick White should have been in.

I’m glad these guys are in the West because I’m seriously convinced they could give any team in the league serious issues in a 7 game series

Shai had 36/6/7 on 22 shots, Tatum had 30/13/8, and shut down SGA in the 4th. That feels like the definition of asserting authority like an MVP should, but what do I know.

SGA got them out to a big lead in the third and we never recovered from it.

As I said in the game thread I don’t think Tatum is playing anywhere close to what he should be currently.

The hell it isn’t. Rewind through any of our games, you’ll have one of JT, JB or KP having a standout game and one of the others a pumpkin.

I somewhat consider it a luxury but still a double edged sword that we don’t have a #1 go-to night in and out.

What makes this SAD is that the Celtics got their a*sses whooped a year ago in OKC, minus SGA, so today should have been vindication day.

Instead, it's an affirmation that OKC is the better team, since they repeated their beatdown for most of the game, even though the Celtics mounted a furious fourth quarter comeback to narrow the 18 point lead down to 2 before losing by 4.

Even though the refs swallowed their whistles tonight and allowed the Celtics to be abused by OKC's defenders while cutting them very little slack of their own, My biggest problem today is with the coaching philosophy the Celtics employed on offense and defense. Not creative, and not appropriate for this opponent. Of course, Brown had a putrid game, which certainly didn't help any. But the Celtics defensive schemes were consistently foiled not just by great OKC shooting but by poor tactics.

Hasn't been great of offense but Smart is back to 30% from 3. That's what he is with no offensive upside. That being said I'm not sure what Jrue has been so meh on offense pretty much all year.

Tatum had 30, 13 and eight assists. Defense late was terrific. Give him credit.
