not really sure why lieber is on this list... he was great for us. Rusch was solid for 1/2 a year at best and then sucked, but good thing we gave him that nice 2 year deal.
Dempster shouldn't be on this list but whatevs... neither should marmol (not a great comparison but just because he blew a game in the playoffs shouldn't mean that he is most memorable for sucking, or else you could say that about mariano rivera)
Traschel used to be good and did give us 5 innings a few starts this year (although those five innings took 3 hours to complete)
My vote goes out to Michael Wuertz... the guy is in love with his slider and if he doesn't hit his location... UH OH

Dempster was crap like 2 years ago, he screwed everything up. Leiber had an era of like 4 or 5 most of the time i remember him.
Playoffs, game 1. 2 run homer leading to loss. That's what matters.

There is no way you can put Carlos Marmol on that list. He was lights out all year.

He has a 3.48 ERA. You're delusional if you think he's anywhere near our worst pitcher. He wasn't even in the Top 5 worst pitchers last season.
Steve Trachsel, Will Ohman, Wade Miller, Jason Marquis and Sean Gallagher were all much worse.

Game to remember... Game against mets we were up 3-0.... latoya hawkins gives up a homerun and mets tie it 3-3... mets eventually won.. worse game of my life as a cub fan.
I remember this game. Victor Diaz hit the game winning hit. A close buddy grew up with Victor Diaz and told me his Dad made him hit bottle caps with a broom stick so he could learn how to hit a curve ball.

...and I picked Latroy by the way.
The one guy I can blame for 2004. I think if he would've held on to all the saves, the Sammy injury, the Wood and Prior injury, the absence of power hitting (when we were suppose to be big boppers that year) would've not mattered. We would've gotten into the playoffs.
