What about Klay Thompson, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and 2nd round draft pick(s) for Pascal Siakam, Otto Porter Jr. and Thaddeus Young? Works on the NBA trade tracker.

Warriors fan here.
No deal.
I don’t want Siakim that much.
I think Porter has declined from the guy Warriors had in 2022 so Porter does not help much.

Because Draymond and Siakim are both power forwards I don’t think Siakim is a good fit with the Warriors.

But I do want Dejounte Murray.
Hawks do want Siskim if his contract is extended.
Hawks don’t think Siakim wants the Hawks.

Both Hawks and Raptors say they want players not draft picks because they both claim that they are too good to be rebuilding teams. I want the Warriors to win a champion now because I think the Warriors will be too old to win championships after this season.

If the Warriors lose Klay or if Klay does not play well the Warriors are not winning a championship even with Siakim or Dejounte Murray added to the team.

In my opinion Kuminga has a 50% chance of being as good as Siskin is now in 2 years.

So my trade checker approved trade:

Too the Raptors
Kuminga
2 Warriors 1st round picks
2 Hawks 2nd round picks
Chris Paul’s expiring contract
Patty Mills filler contract. You can cut him.

To the Hawks
Extended Siakim
Moses Moody (to replace Murray)

To the Warriors
DeJounte Murray
Otto Porter
Porter may not play for the Warriors but somebody has to replace Kuminga. Warriors can turn to Porter Wiggins Garuba or Trayce Jackson Davis to replace Kuminga.

This trade does not work in the trade checker because the Hawks would be taking on 16.7M more in salary than they're sending out. Since they are not an over apron team, and they are sending out between $7,500,000 and $29.0M in salary, they are only able to take back $7.5M more than the salary they are sending out. Here's a similar version of the trade that actually works.

TOR gets
CP3
DeAndre Hunter
Kuminga
Gui Santos
2 Warriors 1sts
2 Hawks 2nds

ATL gets
Siakam
Moses Moody
Jalen McDaniels

GSW gets
Dejounte Murray
Otto
Thad Young
Patty Mills

I feel like the second a team gives him a single player he wants as part of the core going forward, it will be done. I don’t think he’ll be holding out for extra seconds or that kind of thing. Problem is that might now happen at all and this will drag on. I wish Pascal had a bigger agent.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Stephen Curry & Steve Kerr need to win now: Only Pascal is that proven gettable player that could get them there and keep them there for 2 or 3 more years with the way Steph is playing. Players like Dejounte/Lavine are totally unknown at that level. The fit with Draymond would be just fine with Pascal's versatility.
if I were G-State, I would try to acquire Pascal desperately . CP3 + all of their prospects+picks.

Trade checker told me my deal worked if I waited for Jan 9 so that Murray could be traded. But your deal is fine with me.

I wonder if Patty Mills can still play. I wonder if Warrios want Thad young. No problem Warriors can cut them.

I wonder how much the Hawks value DeAndre Hunter.

Edit, after checking Warriors will cut Patty Mills and Thad Young after the trade.

Hawks may have a use for Mcdaniels because they are losing Hunter. Since Hawks are getting the best player in the trade it is fair for them to lose Hunter. The trade hinges on whether Siakim is willing to extend his deal so that he will not be a free agent that leaves the Hawks.

The 6 month restriction prevents teams from circumventing the extend-and-trade contract limits of 3 years and 5% raises. I think it is unlikely Pascal would agree to a deal with those terms so the 6 months would apply.

Something I haven’t seen mentioned—maybe it’s not possible—but could Pascal agree to extend on a 1+1 (player option) in a trade? That would certainly make the team trading for him more comfortable.

Pascal would benefit from this because he could have some say in where he goes today while locking in max money for next year (so no worrying about free agency anymore). Assuming he stays healthy, he would be able to opt out in year 2 and sign an even bigger deal than he is eligible for this off-season (he comes out ahead whether staying as a non-Bird free agent or going elsewhere). Obviously there are some risks for him if he gets injured and only has a guaranteed deal for two years vs four.

You have to fight with spell check to get it to not change Siakam’s spelling. But Siakim is my misspelling. Siakam if I spell his name correctly my spell check does not try to change the spelling.

That revised deal is pretty bad. We already have one overpaid guy in Barrett, I don't think we need another in Hunter

Raptors won’t get much for Siakam if Suakam won’t agree to stay with the team that trades for him.

But we solved that with a 3 way deal. Hawks do want Siakam and do want to trade Murray. The problem is getting Siakam to extend his contract because Siakam kind of wants to be a free agent.

I think the pacers got the best long term piece that fits Scottie and IQ in Jarace. if Indy can put together a deal around him, I’d take that and would be quite happy with our new core

You can ignore any Michael grange reporting. He’s never right about anything. He said unlikely to be any major trades right before OG was traded. His sources said we were 100% drafting Suggs, etc.
My bet is still kuminga to raps. Makes sense for both teams.

Siakam being willing to extend his contract is necessary if a team is going to trade anything if value for Siakam. Indianapolis is not glamorous. Toronto is glamorous and exciting compared to Indianapolis. Indianapolis is not that much warmer than Toronto and is not a big market for big endorsement deals.

You can buy a bigger mansion for the same money in Indianapolis than in most NBA cities.

Siakam might prefer leaving in free agency.

I have a hard time seeing Masai send Siakam to Detroit unless he hates him or doesn't like him as much AND Detroit really pays up.

I think he'll go to a team where they'll compete for a title.

Masai should do what’s best for the team not best for Siakam.

Return to Toronto Raptors
