you have him already. his name is siakam

Its a cap and age issue primarily, then fit and overall competitiveness vs conference. If people are just looking at individual player, you're missing the big picture

Makes no sense for Pascal to sign an extension. If Masai is dumb enough to offer a max deal now, then yeah I can see him accept it. But he knows that once he’s a free agent, like what happened to FVV, he’s gonna get that big deal. Signing an extension kills his chances for that.

Unless he REALLY loves TO…which I doubt.

Can't imagine GSW trading for Pascal now. They've fallen too far to be buyers in exchange for young guys

I'm wondering if we want Wiggins on the Olympic team still, the way he's fallen off

He won't sign an extension now. All we'd be able to offer is 4 years, which while he'd get less money overall, he could get those years from a team he actually wants to play on. We also can't offer a 5 year until the offseason.

So it really comes down to this: if you aren't willing to pay 5yrs/$260M to Siakam, you need to trade him for whatever you can get right now. Because if he becomes a free agent and you aren't willing to offer the 5 year max, he'll take a 4 year deal from someone else.

Bobby and Masai don't usually go on these West road trips, or do they? Seems like something's up

Do their young guys even have a whole lot of value? Certainly didn't look like it tonight.

LOL ya'll talk like it's just as easy as snapping our fingers & Pascal signs an extension...

As if the dude doesn't have AT LEAST 2 better options that he can sign the max with next year ie/ IND but more importantly PHI. You know the place his longtime personal trainer works, the same place with his former coach is, where his personal friend & proud fellow countrymen and MVP level player Joel Embiid is PLUS Tyrese Maxey to make an IMMEDIATE legit title contender...

Why the hell is he passing on that to come back to a team that has been struggling just to make a PlayIn for a FO that cut off their communication from him last summer, has VERY openly shopped him for 2 straight years, had the President of the team say at the presser that he'd have to "prove" himself, has not been offered an extension and also never mentions your name in regards to the futre but just continues to say it's about building around Scottie...I mean it, really think about that. He doesn't say Pascal & Scottie, the 2 best players on the team & even discusses IQ being brought in to play with Scottie, again leave Pascal's name out. Why tf would Pascal want to return to all that disrespect short of us paying the absolute most dollars available?! There is MASSIVE chance Pascal walks for absolutely nothing, that's an insane risk to take when you've also done NOTHING to even win some goodwill with him & try to make him feel wanted. Its just ignorant & arrogant to so foolishly assume" you can just treat someone poorly when they can have a FAR better situation not only as an option but that will be begging him to join. That's ridiculous really...

The franchise literally can NOT afford that...they're about to give IQ a HUGE pay increase, RJ is a big contract, Yak has a bloated contract, Scottie is without question getting the max. So they're they're gonna become a lux tax/repeat offender team for what exactly?!? The team could be ok but they're not even close to being a title contender & you're completely out of dollars to improve the roster. It doesn't make dollars & doesn't make sense.

A trade IS needed.

Gary isn’t signing back imo. Siakam and Gary going out in a trade might be more likely than just Siakam.

I don't blame Siakam at all if he kills any trade discussions and signs with Philly in the summer lmao. I'd do the same. He's done his job, turned himself into a fringe all-NBA player, it's not his fault management has surrounded him with trash for years. And to be jerked around on his extension, asked to prove he's not an unselfish player by Masai which he's never been. Unappreciated by fans.

Be free.

Huh?! They're still 10th seed/in the Play In, the 2 teams in front are far from locks.

The Suns are shaky af this year with their lack of depth & I hate to even put the idea out there but I'm not fully confident in KD's health all season. Then there's the Rockets who are obviously a young team, that I understand they're hungry but they're young...there's gonna make mistakes, inconsistencies and also added pressure they've never dealt with not only in the PlayIn game but coming down the stretch of the season, knowing they gotta try to keep winning games and other than the complete bottom dwellers of the league EVERY other team is going to playing really hard for Playoff positioning too. It will be interesting to see if HOU can sustain this when the level of competition will also increase consistently in the 2nd half of the season.

Obviously the Warriors would have to make a bit of a run to catch NOP & DAL, but 4 games isn't a massive difference especially with a a certain guy named ZION that has NEVER made it through an entire NBA season. Maybe this is the year he does so but I'm not banking on that...so they can quit easily make the Playoffs imo & with Pascal the real threat to knock off anyone if they can retain Wiggins & snaps out of whatever weird funk he's been stuck in. But if they can have a fairly positive season, San Fran is beautiful with a TON of money, business opportunities and of course likely VERY hard for Pascal to turn away being basically in house recruited by someone as great as Steph, along with Klay & Draymond.

Unless the franchise is willing to let Steph experience a Kobe-like ending to his career but arguably worse because Kobe dipped from the achilles injury, Steph is still playing all time great & they're gonna feel ok with watching them squander MVP level play & effort?! That would legit be tragic, this deadline can be legacy defining for the franchise.

With a big three of Siakam, Curry, and Klay, they can absolutely make the top 6, and then it's anybody game.
