Here's an interesting fact:

The ref who made that call, James Williams, is from Indiana and the Pacers are 35-3 when he refs.

Is it Jaylen's job to dribble into double or triple coverage and leave time on the clock in a tie game? Because he excelled at that tonight. And neither of those things was the refs fault.

You're smarter than this.

What are you talking about? He had nowhere to go, dribbled to the corner, and got fouled.

Blame Mazulla for leaving Jaylen out to hang. That’s a coaching. Issue, not a brown one. If Hiekd didn’t foul him he could age. Made the ****. But hield fouled him.

He could have done a dozen other things besides what he did, no? He had to take a forced shot against double coverage in the corner?

I hated the non-timeout but whatever. Once you go with it, you have to be smart. Jaylen drew multiple defenders. All he had to do was throw a pass to his left. See below:

Zebras handed this one to the Pacers, flashes of the Tim Donaghy era….. that being said, when’s the last time this Celtics team won a game at the buzzer?! We’re def below average at end of the game plays. Gone are the days of PP and IT4.

At some point Mazulla has to stop being stubborn and recognize this team isn't great at making split-second decisions in the clutch with everyone scrambling. You have so much talent on the court, its not unreasonable to expect him to have at least a couple of ATO's prepared for these situations.

Easily the biggest problem with this team right now. Such a far cry from when Brad would run ATO plays with a bunch of scrubs and still execute about 20x better than this squad. I mean if this dude can't get this team to execute WTF is the point of him?

It is not up to Brown to anticipate the refs, blatantly, blowing the call upon replay.

It was nowhere near an ideal shot. Go to the rim, crash the boards and shoot with only time left for a tip in. Put pressure on them not to foul. That's what top coaches do with a final tied possession. A contested, deep shot is actually dumb right there.

He was just playing ball trying to create space. He doesn’t agree e the luxury of knowing. Howu h time is left…the defense was scrambling, there was no organization offensively. He just went 1-3.

If ya gonna criticize. Brown, you don’t know ball. Criticize Joe for not calling a timeout and trusting on Jaylen to create.

He is called second row Joe for a reason.

Jaylen's been in too many close games, for too many seasons, to say his coach was the only one to know what to do there. Do you think SGA (less years experience) dribbles to a corner at the end of a tie game?

Here is where Mazulla is wrong. Sometimes you don’t want to calm a timeout because that allows defense to set up. But, the Celtics got stuck in backcourt, there was o other option for Brown.

I gotta believe. Even against an organized defense, Mazulla could have called a set play that would have gotten a better shot than what Brown ended up taking.

But, to critique Brown for that shot, That he was fouled on, is lunacy. It wasn’t a great shot, but that was becuase he didn’t create a better look.

This is it exactly. His philosophy needs to be adjusted for the personnel on his team.

He could let one of the assistants draw it up if he doesn't have any plays of his own lol.

Brad came into the league as an elite coach from day one.

And people still complained about him on here.

People will bash the coach no matter what.

Tatum probably pissed they forced him to miss a game. But long-term health the priority. Let that ankle heal a bit before the MIN-MIL B2B. We were still in the game even without him. This team is plenty good. Still not confident about Joe's in-game coaching though. And JB's decision-making still a work in progress.

Could have won it without a controversial ending, even with that bad 3rd Q, if we hit our free throws.

You’re seriously going to imply an NBA coach doesn’t have coaches he can draw up?

My goodness I can accept being critical of Mazzulla but if you seriously think the head coach of the Boston **** Celtics, one of the biggest basketball teams in the world doesn’t know how to draw up plays I’d love to know what you’ve been smoking

I'd have to question anyone's intelligence if they questioned Brad's competence as a coach. Dude was easily the best coach we had in my era (1990-present).
