You realize you didn't give up any of those guys right? Or any young asset for that matter.

Indy’s first is top 3 protected this year, and the 2026 1st is top 4 protected into 2027 before becoming 2nds.

Thank you.

It's been a long time coming to be in a spot to be able to pull the trigger and be excited for the run they appear to be headed to be on.

What to expect:
-Really good scoring inside with Turner stretching the floor. He slithers inside, draws fouls, finishes well. When there's space in the lane, he'll get to the rim.
-Slightly below average to average 3pt shooting (he was horrific from 3 early in the year and has been hot lately, but his career averages once you throw out the first 2 years when he couldn't shoot yet is 33.7%, which feels about right, though my guess is it goes up 1-2% since Haliburton is a better late-clock option than we've had since Kawhi, and Siakam was at 36% then, which is probably more about not having to take an extra bad 3 every 5 games or so)
-Good at running the floor. Used to be great, might be age creeping in, or he might get back to that with a better running team like yours.
-Good but not great rebounder. He's gone from 8 to 6 a game but that's probably because Scottie is around. If Nesmith is your 3, I think he'll get back to 8 or so.
-Nice fit with all your shooting. We didn't have enough, but you have a lot, and if you keep Hield and throw out Haliburton-Hield-Nesmith-Siakam-Turner I think you can get 26-27 a game from Pascal (at the pace you play at) on pretty efficient shooting. Team is still lacking defensively, but offensively it's basically a perfect fit if you keep Hield (or replace him with another gunner).

Question mark:
-His defence has really declined from very, very good to slightly below average, but it's more about him focusing and being locked in than a physical decline, so I won't be surprised if it improves. Not a stopper, but moves okay. More breakdowns off the ball than on it, for sure.
Where's the D?

LETS GO!!!! I have been making Siakam trades for over a year - this is easily the best guy we could get without giving up any of our current young guys.

Perfect place for Siakam, too, he finally gets to play with a straight-up pass-first point guard, and it will impact his scoring and he will look amazing.

Will be interesting to see if he can return to being the defensive force that he's capable of, and what we need to go against Giannis, Tatum, Butler, etc

It's interesting (but maybe not as relevant as i'm making it out to be in my head) that Siakam and Nembhard share an agent. this summer's negotiations with Pascal might give insight into what to expect when it's time to extend Andrew, or potentially decline/re-sign him in 25-26

If the 2024 pick doesn't convey, does it move to 2025?

That is the most important part of this deal from the Indiana side of things.

I never get the fear of him walking to be such a big turn off for the fans. And im saying this with him not re-signed. The money is available, the chance to play for coach Carlisle, play with a super star PG in Haliburton. The ball is in Indy's hands, they have him in the building, now keep him. If they keep trending the right direction i have no doubt he will re-sign.

Is there a window where we can extend Siakam or is it a guarantee that this goes into UFA before a contract gets signed?
