I was on the trade Trent train, but when he plays this well I feel like keeping him

If we get him to try harder on defense, hes a lock as a starter

This was inevitable, I hate to say it but one of OG/Siakam was likely gone regardless.

Easy as a fan of course who didn't talk to the same teammate every day.

I hope he can string a few wins together. It'll help him get over Pascal's absence.

He's a guy that gets attached to players he has a connection with, hopefully he embraces the opportunity that these moves are done with him on mind.

We really need that Dick juice to inject us with energy.

You know, from the bench.

Again it all stems from his shot. If he can make open 3s he has a role. When he’s not he still does too many **** annoying things. Again I have no idea why he insists on dribble driving. Just pump fake, side step, jack it up.

He had a ton of gravity once those shots started dropping. They wouldn't leave him.

Here's that heads up play by Dick stealing the ball and pushing the ball up court with his eyes on RJ who hauled ass as soon as he saw the play develop.

Look how Dick expertly bypassed the Heat's best transition defender, Dennis, who stood still in the back court asking for the ball so he could walk it up off the turnover.

If you're wondering why Darko didn't let Dick sniff the court in Q3 - this was why

Need to use iq more off ball and stop trying to run offense through him. He’s more of a combo guard than pure pg. run offense through Scottie and even let Barrett go downhill and create. IQ is a shooter and that’s his best asset to us.

IQ needs someone who can set screens well. Barnes and he need to work together on that, but having Poeltl back will help.

I just don’t think he has natural pg tendencies. He seems to always be looking for his shot and doesn’t really have good court vision… I don’t see him as being this traditional pg long term and I think the ball shouldn’t be in his hands as much regardless.

Someone compared him to fvv somewhere, and while he’s clearly more offensively talented than fvv, he does have similar annoying tendencies.

I think he’s good to get a basket in a pinch though, but he reminds me more of like a terry rozier type. But yeah run more offense through Scottie and Barrett and again use his off ball shooting more which his greatest asset to us.

He is nothing like FVV stylistically lol. You just hate the point guard position. FVV is 5th in assists. Every point guard we acquire will "remind you of fvv" by virtue of being a point guard lol.

People were saying "Dennis is like fred", now they saying "iq is like fred". Just goes to show they never knew what they were talking about in the first place.

You can tell he's someone that geniunely gets close to his teammates so changes affect him a lot. Hopefully after the OG trade he can cope with it a bit better this time.

Please stop lol.

He has one of the best floaters in the NBA lol.

This is true. The floater is a bad shot. Steph Currys floater has been under 50% his entire career. A couple seasons it was under 40%.

Everyone who wanted a raptor that attempted floaters just didn't know how low percentage it is in general. They'll found out now. IQ's floater has been one of the best in the league for 2 years. Even while hovering around 50%.

One of the advanced metric advantages regarding floaters that both young and curry exploit....is that they are great shots when the guard has recognized inside rebounding position. Floater rebounds don't travel. So if your C or PF has rebounding position....a failed floater is likely an easy putback for the frontcourt.

Trae young might have an off night and miss 4 or 5 floaters in a game....but if 3 or 4 of them are immediately grabbed and dunked by his front-court....they were still good shots to take.

Scottie can make new friends. IQ and RJ seem likable and openly friendly. They can bond over some Osmows Chicken on the Rocks :D .
