This is the type of opportunity we should be ALL over.

Defensive wing with a TS% of 61%

Hell, if we don't want to go after Simons or Dejounte, we could start him alongside Suggs and SUFFOCATE guards without sacrificing on shooting. Suggs at 40% from deep and Jones at 38%...

Even off the bench, he could be play major minutes.

I'd be selling picks like candy to get some of these available guards and wings.

If the price is low enough, it's definitely worth looking into.
Yeah, I'd love it if we traded for him. Hopefully we don't stand pat

Harris and Den 1st for Jones.
Trade Cole (rerouted to a 3rd team likely), Fultz, and 2 1sts for Murray

Goga/WCJ/Mo
Paolo/JI
Franz/Jones/Houstan
Suggs/Ingles/Jett
Murray/AB

It seems like they want to change their C position because JV is too old for their timeline. Hence, Jones could be the sweetener?

(WCJ or Goga) plus whatever for JV and Jones?

I'm 100% on board with trading WCJ

I am not. He is our best big. Unless it was a significant upgrade at guard like DM or AS I do not want to trade him and I do not think the Magic do either. Goga is fine against some bigs and probably has some room to grow but I do not think he will ever reach WCJ potential.

WCJ and Harris for JV and Jones would be highway robbery for us if we could re-sign JV. Now, maybe they know they're not going to be able to re-sign JV and that's the big issue for them.

'Our big get'? No, he wouldn't be that... but watching Houstan and Okeke should let you know that upgrading the 'others' would be huge for us too.

I’m looking bigger picture than Herb Jones. As starters Okeke and Houstan suck. They’re serviceable once they’re back on the bench. Get someone that matters first then we can look the Herb Joneses of the league imo.

No doubt that we should focus on the big fish first... but landing Jones right afterwards would make me irrationally confidant against anyone we go up against if we're just giving up picks and expirings to make both happen.

Herb Jones would be a solid get.

But don't worry about us landing him anyway.

It's really interesting the whole back and forth with Wendell.... When he plays like azz people want him gone, then when he plays well now they want to keep him.... Me personally I think it can't hurt us to shop him, we're more talented with him but we can win without him.... Truly though for me it's not so much about his play but moreso that I can't trust his ability to stay healthy... Post-game interview just the game before this one he said he's still feels pain but is playing through it.... So the knee tendinitis isn't going away plus the plantar fasciitis lurking in the background that also comes and goes....yeah I'm at the point where I feel we can't keep dedicating roster spots to guys that play part time or less
