he isnt marginally better. He is taller, longer, better 3 pt shooter, better overall scorer.

He is not marginally better than Cole... but he isn't a great fit either.

Simons is very poor defensively and is decidedly not a point guard.

He's basically Cole if Cole was a really good 3PT shooter who took a lot of threes. A good player to be sure, but he's not really going to solve the point guard problems this team has.

Suggs isn't a PG. Black isn't ready. Cole isn't a PG. Suggs... well you know.

That said, I'd still trade for him if it came down to it just because this team severely lacks what he provides from a shooting/scoring perspective.

Dejounte is making some amazing passes tonight and has zero assists to show for it due to his team's poor shooting. He isn't a great finisher at the paint but we can work with that.

Cole Anthony is terrible on offense and terrible on defense. He only rebounds well and over dribbles.

I like Cole but he’s nothing close to Simons.

“Simons is like a bigger, faster, elite shooting, 5 assist per game, more efficient Cole”…that’s an entirely different player

JR Smith is long and athletic and can shoot…doesn’t make him “like” MJ

Terrible on offense is harsh. Anthony has a sub-15 PER, but not so low as to be inked "terrible".

He has an eFG% of 48.6%. Not great but that is offest by his glowing 83.6% FT line on a good 3.5 FTA per game.

If I am troubled by anything it is that Anthony's assist/TO numbers are not as strong this year as last.

Last year's year-3 Anthony is a better player than this year's year-4 Anthony. But I cannot call him Terrible on offense.

ok, thats fair. he is more combo guard than true PG which we really need. i do agree he does provide a lot of what we need

If the Hawks are looking to dump D'Angelo Russell in a Dejounte Murray trade, well Orlando has Fultz and Okeke as a package that gets that done.

I have to think most here would rather have Russell over Fultz.

The target is Tyus Jones IMO. Washington is going nowhere and he can be a very valuable addition without needing to outbid someone in free agency.

Last nights game made it apparent that the shooting and point guard play together isn’t up to par. Defense can save you sometimes, but if another team is shooting lights out there is no way you are coming back.

The point-guard-by-committee thing is cute, but it doesn’t really work long term. Let Suggs do what he does best off ball while playing next to someone that can shoot.

One volume shooting guard isn’t solving anemic offense. A point guard that can run plays and shoot CAN.

I’ve said it before… Simons is a good player IF he’s playing off ball and the rest of your lineup isn’t a sieve leaking points. Not sure I want him running the show next to Suggs and taking the ball out of Franz/Paolo’s hands more than setting them up in action. Simons is looking for shots more than the latter.

I’d rather have neither.

Heat acquire Terry Rozier for Kyle Lowry's expiring contract and a 2027 lotto protected 1st rounder that becomes unprotected in 2028.

Cross them off the list for Murray, Brodgon, Simons, Tyus among others.

Rozier is a baller. Such an upgrade for them.

Heat know what they are doing.

Losing Strus and watching Lowry become a corpse on offense made Rozier a prime target. They needed more scoring outside of Jimmy. They can get value out of the second round because they are Miami.

Glad it was Terry. Can't wait for them to be aged out when we start hitting our prime. Fk the Heat.

The Magic beat NY, and then they traded for OG. We beat Miami, and then they traded for Rozier.

I like the idea of Tyus as someone who will eventually go to the bench a few seasons from now when we look to really compete. Black may not be the guy filling that starting spot, but at least we will know by then what he looks like and what the team plays like with a true vanilla PG like Jones at the helm.

Heat has an actual FO that can retool or acquire stars when needed.
