Final stats line: 3-4 FG, 1-1 3PT, 3 AST, 0 TOs .
The most interesting was his only three point make: Monte got screen from Muscala, relocated and made three. It looked VERY much like Conley threes after Mike gets screens from Gobert.
Also his three assists came from PnRs plays, which led to 8 points, two three point shots and one floater from Duren.
His 7 points were one three point shot, one mid range, one pull up mid range shot and one floater wich again looked VERY much like Conley floater.
He did that in 11 minutes in his first game back. Multiply by 3 for starters minutes and he went 9-12 3-3s 9 rebounds 9 assists and 21 points with 0 TOs. I know that's not a guarantee, but look how good it projects to.
We both know multiply by 3 is not how you extrapolate stats. We also both know that the longer he plays the more his conditioning impacts his game. For some players this isn’t much of an issue, but given that it is late January and he is playing in his first game, I don’t think you can even pretend to claim that he would be perfect from deep and 75% from the field in 33 minutes. Not to mention 1 board and assist shy of a triple double. Common man.
I specifically said it's not a guarantee of happening. As a matter of fact it's very unlikely. It was just fun to look at what his numbers could have been in 33 minutes if they were tripled.

Alright. I've solved the trade deadline mystery. Most of you won't like it...but I'm going to throw it out there. Slaughter away.
Trade#1
MN in: Monte Morris
MN out: TBJ, Shake, future 2nd rd pick
Trade#2
MN in: Mikal Bridges
MN out: Naz, SloMo, Miller, our 2nd from this year

I would absolutely do the first trade. Brooklyn would never do the 2nd.

My other monster trade to Nets would be KAT and Jaden for Mikal and Cam Johnson...but I have no idea if it would work either.

That is giving up too much. Towns for Mikal and Cam ( or one of the guards ). Won't include JMcD

Would have to include $8 with Towns...
I don't want to give up Jaden, but this might be the only way they accept. We get 2 very good players on very good contracts...
EDIT (KAT + SloMo would work, but dont think Nets accept...KAT + Shake + TBJ would also work and free up a spot for a buyout vet)

Spot. On.
I understand people want "another Conley", but stylistically they are targeting the wrong guy. The guy to get is Morris instead of Jones, and potentially at half the price! I am admittedly still slightly skeptical about Jones' 41.6% 3-point shooting this year...as someone said, Morris is about consistent there as consistent can be.
But maybe more importantly, look at the numbers inside the arc since Morris entered the league. (bolded numbers take away this season (1 game for Morris) and 2017-18 (3-game rookie sample size for Morris)
2-point shooting:
Jones: .528 / .453 / .492 / .487 / .487 / .495 / .560
Morris: .800 / .531 / .495 / .534 / .545 / .543 / .667

Agreed. Morris makes so much more sense.

I don't buy it. The Hawks are going to give up Murray for a 2029 1st and expiring contract? After what they just paid?
Reeves, at the very least, would also have to be going to ATL, right?

I'm among DeJounte's biggest fans back from when he was a Spur. A super big PG who can defend, rebound, block shots, assist and score efficiently . IMO if Atlanta trades him for nothing, but cap space and 1 FRP they're idiots.

I’ve been following this pretty closely, and the problem with any deal is that the Hawks refuse to take on DLo, and no one else seems to want him either. The ATL price might fly (a future unprotected pick and a pick swap or two), but that leaves LAL without any other incentives to get a team to take Russell. The sticking point, which would be a sticking point for us as well, is that he has a player option for $18.7 mil next year that he would likely opt into. On top of this, matching his $17.3 mil salary would require Anderson, Conley or Naz, and all three are important to the team that is currently tied for the best record in the West.

More on Morris vs Tyus. Playoffs.
Tyus has played in 5 Playoff series. The series against us in 2022 is the only one where he wasn't flat-out terrible.
Morris' last 5 Playoff series:
51/36/90
58/38/80
44/42/78
41/38/50
49/42/75

Good find. Doogie suggest Morris, Malcolm Brogdon, Bogdon Bogdanovic, Royce O'Neale, Tyus Jones and Davion Mitchell.

Bogdan? How would that work financially?? Wolves need a shooter off the bench like him for sure and also a backup pg.
Hell no to O’neale and Mitchell, mitchell can’t shoot and is basically just a 6 foot tall defensive player that can sometimes be pesky but way too small for most guards with length .
Also hope wolves get a vet that is bought out.

I wonder how much of it was Jokic effect in playoff.

My first choice will be Morris follow by Tyus. Don't think Bogda or Mitchell or O Neale make sense.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
