Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
I still think that the best trade candidates for the Mavs would be buy low Players...Players whos value is low,but we know can Play...for example:
CHA: Bridges for Green...the Suns are interested in him...if the Suns can get him than Mavs definetely need to pull the trigger
ORL: WCJ for Maxi and two seconds
GS: Wiggins for THJ + Powell
I know that's a lot of changes but it would fix their problems..lineups would Look something like
Luka/Exum
Kyrie/Hardy/Curry
Bridges/DJJ/Omax
Wiggins/Grant/Morris
Lively/WCJ

Don't see Orl doing that deal. Bridges has an option to veto that trade, and I dont think the $ works to make the GSW trade legal

Yeah,Orlando would probably want Grant...Bridges would probably come, why not ...Mavs are better...and yes,GS deal works money wise,at least in trade machine

If Brooklyn is asking for 2 FRPs for DFS who has no particularly outstanding significant skillset whatsoever then THJ should be worth 4 FRPs based on the fact that he actually is an efficient scorer this year and a legit 6th man of the year candidate.
Will be interesting to see what they can do this time. Keep in mind, they were trading THJ for 2 full and off seasons. They couldn't find or didn't like any offers.
He is still not expiring so we'll see if they are lucky this time.

Agree.
I'm not sure that nobody wanted him, probably nobody wanted to pay what Mavs ask for him. And that's ok.
I don't dump THJ because he is the only player who can score 20+ points from our bench, obviously he can't be the 3rd/4th best player of a contender.
Honestly i don't even know if Hardy will be ever good as him.

With how he's playing this season I'd only trade him if serious value comes back. I think the perspective has shifted a lot from the past years. He is pretty solid value for money at this point.

Yes he's playing solid and that's the reason for a trade...we always talk about how FO Love their guys too much(Maxi,Josh,Dwight) and now that he's playing good he's suddenly untradeable, too valuable...remember when nobody wanted to trade Maxi for Lauri or Maxi and pieces for Randle...how did that work out?? This team isn't going anywhere with THJ and the way its constructed now, changes are needed...I know Wiggins plays bad this year but I'd trade him for THJ in a second...same for WCJ or Bridges...we've seen how Luka and Kai open up the space for Players(DJJ has been great as is Exum),you really think some other Players who are currently in a slump wouldn't bemefit from playing with them

Bruce Bowen is on the block, but i think the price is too high and another SF isn't the biggest hole of our roster.
But he is very good.

THJ was seen as a negative asset by most. Now he has 1.5 years left with slightly declining salary around $16-17m/year.He should be tradeable now but its hard to claim that he has a trade value.
A streaky shooter who cannot defend or finish at the rim. Teams rather go with 3&D players I am not a Bullock fan but he played decent defense for two years with Knicks and Mavs. That type of player with actual defense worths more for a playoff team.
DFS contract looked like a bargain last year. A solid defender that can play 3-4 and shoot 3pt on a good percentage. Since last year, he aged one more year. I am not sure if he still has the same worth. But I can see contenders throwing 1-2 late 1st round picks for him. Most likely one.
I'd not mind Mavs going after him for a top 20 protected first round pick or sth.

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
Even when you go over to Wizards websites they dont expect 2 FRP for Kuzma but 1 FRP and young talent. THJ wont get 2 FRP but can be used in matching salary for Kuzma.
All these guys that say THJ doesnt have trade value are clueless ,THJ can light up any team up in the NBA for 30 pts and does it regularly. That has value but because of his age a Josh Green,Jaden hardy, or OMax has to be added to sweeten the deal.
Last night Kyle Kuzma got 14 defensive rebounds .It helps to be 6'10 w/shoes and springy legs which the Mavs dont have. Everyone here seems to be looking at guys 6'7" or less to add to the Mavs which makes no sense because it doesnt add to the Mavs biggest weakness ....length and wingspan.
Wizards have everything Mavs dont in 6'9" Kyle Kuzma ,6'9" Deni Avidja,6'9" Patrick Baldwin Jr, 6'10" Daniel Gafford . Thats where the Mavs need to be calling to make a trade.

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
I'll never understand the obsession with Kuzma... To me he's just Wood 2.0 and some would trade Mavs best trade assests for him. How would a low % shooter, poor defender and poor rebounder solve this team problems??? He's a twitter troll, nothing more.
Mavs need a coaching change before they do any trade. Then they need someone who could actually come up with different offensive and defensive schemes that players are going to be willing to follow.

THJ is playing a good to very good year and is a legit 6th man of the year contender on as you mentioned a pretty reasonable salary in todays salary. He's also a player that can put up 30 something off the bench every now and then. That certainly has value.
DFS on the other hand was low efficiency and a solid but far from great defender in his last year for us and as you say has not gotten any better or younger since.

I dont think you follow the Mavs too much ,you're trying to compare a 7 ppg (Wood ) to a player (Kuzma) who has avged 21 ppg for the last 2 yrs ,how clueless .
Another reason I dont think you know anything about the Mavs ,I'm just a fan and I dont put out the news the Mavs are interested in Kyle Kuzma because they're looking for a player 6'8" or bigger who can get their own baskets. It's no secret the Mavs have interest In Kuz so lying saying I'm the only one pushing a rock up the hill is just clueless.
