MarJon and Portland 2nd for Kris Dunn
Bobby, Pat, MarJon and picks for Dejounte Murray
Bobby for Grant Williams
Delon Wright for Pat C.

I really like the Kris Dunn and Grant Williams TI’s. Add those two guys, and suddenly we have a defensive identity.

Predict the Dunn one is the deal, but we also give up the 2027 2nd as well.

Bobby and Patty need to go just for salary purposes. If I was an owner I'm not paying the 2nd apron for a team that can't get out of the first round.

I might be leaning towards something like Bobby, marjon, 2nds for thybulle and duop.

Then pat for delon.

Just not a fan of paying a premium for guys like Kris Dunn who are found off the scrap heap/waiver wire every year. I guess I'd do the Williams and Delon Wright deals if that's the best we can do (and we're not including any picks/prospects). Still doubt we can pull a Murray trade off, but it's interesting that Nehm is still throwing it out there as a possibility.

According to the article, him and Thanansis have an implicit no-trade clause because they resigned with their current team per the CBA.

You have to put aside your old impressions of Kris Dunn as an injured lotto pick bust. At this point he’s later career Shaun Livingston, who fills a huge position of need on this team.

My issue with trading marjon and the 35th pick for Dunn is that we wouldn’t have him locked in long term. Would it be a one year rental?

Horst, who overpays, vs. Ainge who loves to overvalue. Match made in heaven.

Dunn is what people think Marcus Smart is.

Smart has shot 33% from 3 over the last 4 seasons. Dunn has shot 45% from 3 since his return to the NBA. Dunn is a sure ball handler. Smart leads the NBA in turnover % on drives. The Jazz are 12 points better with Dunn on the floor. Smart has had little net impact in his late career.

Dunn is presently the most underrated player in the NBA. He's an absolute stud defender, both the eye test and statistical measures support that.

We'd have Dunn's Early Bird Rights, so we'd be able to resign him, unless someone goes nuts and gives him the Bruce Brown contract.

I don't think it will be Marjon going to Utah in the deal. Ainge simply isn't into the long, lean, lengthy prospects. He loves stout dudes. I'd bet the deal is a 3 way.

Why? If we deal Bobby, Jae becomes the backup 4. He's played well. Clearly better than Beasley as PoA defender, even though that shouldn't be his role.

Rockets
In: Portis, Connaughton
Out: Landale, Green, draft compensation

Hawks
In: Landale, Green
Out: Hunter, AJ Griffin

Jazz
In: AJ Griffin
Out: Dunn

Bucks
In: Dunn, Hunter
Out: Portis, Connaughton

Divide up the Houston draft compensation any way you like. Bucks take on Hunters ugly contract because they just want the future salary slot. Griffin fits the Ainge archetype. Hawks get the expiring contracts they want, Landales deal is non-guaranteed.

Horst has overpaid in the past, but I don’t think anyone can look at the Dame deal and claim anything less than a fleecing on Milwaukee’s end.

You think Thybulle would waive his no trade to play for Doc? Love that your getting Duop Reath in the deal. He crushed us twice this year.

Bobby for Grant Williams would piss me off. He’s been brutal this year. Basically a fat version of last years Grayson Allen.

Nehm's proposed trades are interesting. I remember seeing Dunn playing in the G league in Oshkosh not long ago and he could have been had for absolutely nothing.

When people praise certain GMs like Horst, you need to account for things they didn't do. Giving up Marjon and a second for a journeyman is a steep price when Horst could have had him for nothing a year ago. But I would do it, mainly because I've always been a Dunn fan, all the way back to college.

I'd do that trade and then offer Bobby (my soulmate), PC and AJJ (who I like) for Caruso. The loss of Bobby's scoring and rebounding will be a problem, but not much you can do about it.

I would also consider adding Beasley to the trade to Chicago and keeping AJJ. Then start playing Green more off the bench.

I think so, yes.

I think the bucks would be the best fit in the league for him, and he’d be used in a way that would maximize and scale up his value.

That has a lot to do with brook in the drop. The role of the point of attack guy is to:

1) refuse to be screened, and
2) when you inevitably get screened to make yourself felt with rear contests.

I don’t think there’s a better rear contest player in the league than thybulle. Him guarding that action and being used in that way as often as he would be here would be significant value added.

If guards like Haliburton or Brunson have to worry about a rear contest on their floaters, it could completely change the dynamic of the game.
