I'll take that one! Fills a need. I will be slightly disappointed if this is the only move but there are hours... and TPE... still left.

Well, so much for the whole "Brad has traded for 8 guys..all between age 27-35 and none were half season rentals" theory lol.

Tillman is only 25 and is on an expiring contract.

But clearly Brad wanted to beef up the front court depth.

Bottom line, Queta and Kornet are completely unproven in a playoff setting. Tillman on the other hand, is proven in a playoff setting. He was the Grizzlies starting center last year in the playoffs, played 30 MPG over 6 games. Posted 9 pts, 8 rebs, 3 assists per game. 0.7 steals, 0.7 blocks. It's only 6 games but those are solid numbers - especially in the playoffs, for a guy who was only 24.

Year before that, when he was only 23..he was their backup center in the playoffs..got a respectable 15 MPG over 9 games.

Seems like decent big man insurance.

He's not a shooter. But he's also not a complete non-shooter either. Has hit 50 threes in his career, playoff included.

He is currently out with a knee injury, has missed the past few games. I'm sure if it was a serious injury, Brad wouldn't have made this move. He obviously got a medical report and didn't get scared too much by it..

Now let's see if we add a wing..I think Brad might not be done yet..

Tillman only makes $1.9 mill so we still have about $4.5 mil left on that Grant TPE

I agree, the 2nds we gave up are 2027 and 2023 so I think we still have 3 2nds in 2024, 1 in 2025 and 1 in 2026 in our disposal in addition to the 1st round picks we have if I'm not mistaken.

Big, wide bodied guy who's a good defender and has toughness.

Seems like a guy who can be useful in a series vs Embiid, Jokic, Gobert/KAT, Bam, Mobley/Allen, Giannis/Lopez, Randle/Hartenstein..

We have plenty of other guys who can shoot/score.

get a potential rotation player for 2027 and 2030 second round picks. For a team hoping to compete for titles but with extremely limited avenues to add depth for the next several years -- and one injury-prone big, and one 37-year-old big -- I think it's pretty smart. Of course, I like the player. A lot of people -- and analytics -- do.

JaMarco is JaLoco. Yeah, he's "undersized", but we got size out the wazoo. The Celtics need some grit and muscle. Joe will be able to play this guy with KP or AH. Glass cleaner, good hands around the rim while they shoot threeeeeeeeeessssss!!!!
