Springer is a legitimate NBA defender but a total zero offensively. Don’t think he’ll be a nightly rotation guy here but he could get some burn on the nights Hauser is cold

No one got my "attainable" guys to replace PP -- Wright, Dunn, Caruso, Grimes (well, no way we could've beat Pistons offer), etc. so how can I be mad?

I'm not seeing it, but Brad has full time people looking into these things, whereas I have youtube.

Very happy to be proven wrong, or perhaps just ignorant.

Don't love giving up on Banton for Springer.

There's an NBA player in Banton, even if it's not this year. He reminds me of the kid who was related to Reggie Lewis from South Carolina. PJ Dozier. He's just too skilled and long to not get there eventually.

Springer on the other hand, not sure what he offers that Lamar Stevens didn't. At least Brissett has size.

No one got significantly better in the East apart from the Knicks. ECF is still ours to lose.

We think Springer leapfrogs Brissett as 10th man?

As some others here can vouch for, I think Springer can be a legit rotation player sooner than later.

"Jaden" Springer???

G League Extraordinaire.
We're better off with Jaden Smith.

Parl lol, you literally beg to the Celtics to play all of their g league bums.

OMG. He's a Bum, Bum. Not even a G league Bum.
I do Not understand this Trade????

I warned you.

Well, Joe can shuffle him in on the defensive end for a few minutes. I don't see why Brad makes this trade to waive a guy. He's only 21. Maybe they just want a long look at him and will fill the available spot with a buyout.

This season? No way. Brissett trumps him on chemistry/knowledge of system/teammates alone.

Yeah totally feel this. I’m taking this as they didn’t like how he as panning out. Dude got busted for his motor and it never ran that high.

Thing is, Banton was not playable because he couldn't shoot. Not sure why change to Springer then. He must be a really good defender. He blocked JT is about his NBA resume so far.

Only vaguely aware this guy existed. He’s 21, has good steal and block rates, decent assist numbers for a wing. Also not that big and due $4M next season.

Plus they dealt pick ~44 for him so they must like him somewhere between “this guy could be a breakout defensive wing,” and “we think he can play garbage minutes and be a good locker room guy and can’t wait to trade his salary and our first round pick next year for someone decent.”

Springer is a flyer for next season, settle down people.

He doesn’t turn 22 until September.

Bobby Marks posted that we received a second from Philly, though I think he's mixed up. Is it possible we got paid to take Springer into the Grant TPE though?

I also strictly remember Aaron neesmith. Shooting around 21% the year coach IM. E would scream him oval with inconsistent time. Now niece smith is top two in the league. Point is always the same. Never judge someone with inconsistent playing time.

I had a hunch you two were related.
