Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Goodbye RoLo
35 year old Pat Bev is still better than Measley and Pat at guarding the perimeter. Good trade but we needed more. Royce O’Neal going for that cheap is a head scratcher. I’d legit give up Pat+Beachamp+Portland 2nd for him. But oh well. Hope we can get Tucker to help with schemes and stuff or maybe Morris?

Yeah. Royce O'Neal is the one that hurt most. It should be us.

So Wenyen Gabriel, Chimezie Metu, Otto Porter, or Gallo?

We're 33-19. Our championship season we were 32-20. There was a lot of angst that year too. R-E-L-A-X ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Goodbye RoLo
My disappointment isn’t so much of putting blame fully on Horst, because most of the guys we talked about here just didn’t get moved.
I can acknowledge that and still be disappointed at the reality that our current team is poorly constructed to fit around our top 3 guys. You need to plug the remaining holes with active defenders up and down the roster. Instead, we still have Bobby and pat. They’re fine players, but they aren’t the defenders we need.
Taking the longer term view of us potentially ducking the second apron allowing us to aggregate salaries and move the ‘31 first with our ‘24 first at the draft is nice and all, but that also makes it feel like a punt this year. I realize the top end talent is there, so it’s not actually a punt, and we could win it, but all that further points to just not going all-in this season. We didn’t maximize the chance this season, and that’s a tough reality to face.
Maybe I just wanted a change for a change, or players with the theoretical ability but not clear impact, but I’m sure we could have acquired Royce if we wanted to, and he in theory gives us some of what we need. That deal probably would have had to have been pat, marjon, both 2nds. We’d still duck the 2nd apron, possibly even mid-season, allowing us to go after higher priced buyouts now, but Royce is an expiring so he wouldn’t allow us to aggregate as much in the off-season. I think that deal makes us better now, maybe not much, but I’d feel a little better about this team this year.

I think we’ll make big changes in the off-season if we don’t win it all. Brook, Bobby, pat, possibly Khris. I think we’ll completely reshape the roster, and I’m here for it*
*as long as you get good value for Khris. He’s still mostly awesome, so I don’t want to get rid of him for the sake of it. The others I think will almost certainly be moved.

Does Otto Porter have anything left? I’ve long loved the way he plays, and he was pretty much the perfect small-ball 4 even 2 years ago.

Nerlens Noel for a back up scrub center on the cheap? Throwing darts at the dart board here.

Glad this thread has almost reached its conclusion. Never has so many bad posts been made in such a short time frame.Truly impressive or depressive. But now we can read a few more pages on scrap heap guys.
Now that Beasley has come back down to earth, start Green and see what he can do. I think he plays better defense.

Cause he will@$$ shove Bev under the basket for an easy layup. For sure we leave him open at the 3 but if he posts up Bev, its another mismatch to worry about. Help defense creates rotates and we are the oldest and slowest team to rotate minus Giannis.
If Jrue can push Bev into the paint for a layup, what do you think he would have done to Cam P? 10th row? Bev will be fine here.

If Gallo's knee is right then he's about as good of a buyout guy as you can hope for. Him or Porter would be great. Would give us so many options for small-ball lineups:

We weren’t as old that year, we had Middleton and Holiday still near their primes and Giannis entering his. Now only Giannis is in his prime, Middleton and Dame falling off, Brook very close to retirement and still no meaningful young talent. Oh and we mortgaged our future and tried coach after coach with no consistency so far.

Can the Bucks actually sign a buyout guy without going over the 2nd apron again?

All this obsession about the roster being "too old" and it's like you guys are completely ignoring that the best team in basketball right now (Clippers) has like, 2-3 guys under the age of 33 getting rotation minutes....

Will they be holding the Larry O’Brien trophy with those past their prime players? I would bet no. We most likely won’t either, and we now look to have lost our regular season mojo too.

I don't know if it pushes us in to the third apron again? If so might not be worth it. But I'd love to sign Otto Porter and then just sort of rehab and slowly ramp him up. I think there is a small (35%) chance he could give us good playoff minutes, if healthy. Obviously he's been trending down for a while now.

If they're healthy enough? Yeah they probably do, cuz what other choice do they have but to hope for good health? You guys keep acting like there's some sort of alternative here where both us and teams like the Clippers can just magically trade our good, older players for good younger players and still win a title. It's a fantasy.
