Its pretty funny how some people get caught up in small sample size
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2348092
Since this trade was proposed WCJ is averaging 14/6.6 on 59.2% FG and 42.2% 3pt, while Trayce Jackson-Davis is averaging 3.8/3.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

If you mean in terms of owing us time on court, sure, I mean I doubt he wanted to be injured as much as he has and we can never take him playing for granted which is unfortunate and thus he will always be a risk.
But he's also single-handedly the difference between us being a competitive team defensively or not, and I don't think there's a player more important to our team, I guess with Franz offensively because we looked really bad too without him.
But having someone negate the other team's best player 8/10 times down the stretch in a close game is doing enough for me.

I'm obviously not doubting his talent, I'm doubting his ability to stay on the court.
Trust me if he could stay healthy and play 70ish games per year, with the impact he has I truly believe he would get the $136M Jaden Mcdaniels contract.
And no I don't believe he is "single handedly" the reason why the Magic have the 4th ranked defense. You don't have that much of an impact in 14mpg in 35 games.

They are 22-13 in the games Isaac has played. 7-11 in the games he has not played.
9-2 in games he's played more than 16 minutes.

Banking on Isaac to be healthy is the definition of insanity. Easy to get sucked in though.The-Stallion70 wrote:SOUL wrote:The-Stallion70 wrote:

$17.4M for 50-55 games of Isaac is worth it tbh. He's genuinely that impactful.
There's basically no scenario where I wouldn't bring him back for next season outside of some fluke thing where Luka asked out and said he'd only play for Mosley and Isaac had to be in the deal, which obviously isn't happening.

Eh, we need to improve availability. JI is nice but his history is such that you can't trust him. It's a miracle he's healthy(ish) in a contract year...Knightro wrote:$17.4M for 50-55 games of Isaac is worth it tbh. He's genuinely that impactful.

I'm ok with bringing him back but I'm going to need to see a lot more evidence that he's healthy and less injury prone.

Not in 14 minutes in a 48 minute game man, just no.
How many mpg does Gobert play? That man has defensive impact.

Yeah... im bringing JI back no matter what... well maybe if he asks for a 4yr 120m deal.
Seriously though... 17m for 50 games is a bargain. Especially if those games are in the POs lol.
Im using the draft to get a young legit 6'10 to develop into someone like JI.

Yea I think you kind of appeal to him and see if you can get him to sign for cheaper and add years. If we can get that contract closer to MLE and you just safe guard his minutes throughout season and try and allow him to play as much as he can. Then unleash during the playoffs would be the ideal situation.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Hey if you want to pay Isaac $120m to watch NBA games Courtside then be my guest.

Without JI:
ORTG: 111.9
DRTG: 115.4
NETRTG: -3.5
With JI:
ORTG: 115.0
DRTG: 111.8
NETRTG: 3.2
A 6.7 point net rating swing in his 14.8 mpg.
He finally looks healthy and the minutes are creeping up. JI is going nowhere... He's also not getting $120m either.

I'm not sure when it's safe to conclude that JI's future set of games played will be drastically different from his historic set of games played but it's not stupid to think we've already seen enough to think the future will be different from the past.
I said it's insanity to design a build with him included, expecting him to be available, but I was being hyperbolic.

Warning sent.
We all debate and argue on here, but let's keep it about ball. Personally quoting to personal attack is something I've seen you do a few times and I know you can debate without needing to do that because I've seen you do that too.

He's under contract for a fully non-guaranteed $17.4M next season. That's a no-brainer for the Magic to pick up IMO.
If he plays out the rest of the games this season, he'll end up playing like 65 games btw.
