Shout-out to Suggs. Over half his FGAs are 3's (.545 3PAr) and he's shooting 38% on them. Seems to have fully embraced that 3&D mindset in replacing Harris.

Next question is if he can be a two-way, three level scorer for us.

One funny thing I just realized is that Paolo, Franz, and Suggs take the most 3s on the team. And yet all three of them are slashers that should be driving and kicking to sharpshooters. Why are they the ones taking the 3s?

With Suggs I guess it makes sense and he’s adapted his game. Just kind of funny. If you look at OKC or Cleveland or Indiana, yeah they might have a top guy taking the most 3s but then it’s specialist after specialist. Pretty sad.

I think that’s pretty easy to fix if they really try.

Great point, the offense is unbalanced and just generally a mess.

I'm beating a dead horse at this point but AB and Jett are solutions for the backcourt imbalance and I think we need to go away from a quick center to a power center in the SL. Increase the share of three pointers coming from the backcourt vs frontcourt.

Goga 15.33
Harris 11.29
Ingles 10.10
Isaac 9.66
Black 2.76
Suggs 1.70
Fultz 1.42
Franz 1.34
Paolo -0.60
Cole -1.19
WCJ -1.93
Moe -2.89
Jett -9.03
Caleb -16.10
Okeke -18.38
Schofield -50.50

So if these numbers actually were valid Fultz is having a better impact than Paolo and Franz?

I don't think he has the ball handling for it. And ultimately that's ok.

Suggs doesn't really have to alter anything about his current play style to see be wildly impactful.

If he can just continue to make steady gains as a finisher, defender, and shooter, he'll be a wildly valuable 3&D guard who provides value off the ball offensively, while defending at a high level on the ball.

At that point in time and considering sample size limitations it's an indication that Fultz lineups were higher performing lineups. It effectively answers the question "which player lineups perform the best overall irrespective of competition".

Suggs could end up with a massive contract, especially with the timing of when it’s due up.

Basically, I think he’s the team’s third best player by a wide margin. I think his offense is waiting to be unlocked even further.

I still rate Suggs’ drives as one of the most unguardable, with the way he takes his football days with him in it (like Paolo). I believe he has a surprisingly solid 3P% on the Klay-esque off-pin 3’s, notoriously unguardable of a shot again.

So we may actually need to give him some run at PG again to develop some of it faster, even if ofc it’s to soon go back to the two point forwards 10 games later. Mosely is making one of his fewer mistakes not pushing for more Suggs offensive actions of different types.

The way the Magic think so secret-project highly of JI and Fultz is exactly how they should be with Suggs right now. Only JI could be the 3rd best player on the team, but his contract timing and health history will spare us from going over 15 or 20.
