"Consuming" a dunk sounds very satisfying.

Good episode with our cap guru. Alluded to tons of trades lined up at the deadline.

Can you summarize it for us?

Re: Official 2023-2024 Magic General Season Thread
Keyonte George just had a 32 point game. Warriors Podziemski has become a key rotational player also.
I know I know I really like Anthony Black. I do think he is going to be good. But if we have the chance of redraft. Who would you pick?
Right now, I think Jett Howard should play more meaningful minutes. But it is what it is.
And we are not developing our young guys. However, do we have what it takes to contend in the future especially after Suggs, Franz and Paolo signed the contract extension leaving us with no cap space?

I've always had Keyonte ahead of Black, but in the same tier so negligible difference. If I could only take one I'd take AB, I'm attached now and that defense is even better than anticipated.MasterGMer wrote:Keyonte George just had a 32 point game. I would a billions times over prefer Keyonte to Jett.

Next question is if he can be a two-way, three level scorer for us.
3 and D player that could be huge for the team seems to be his floor now. The player whose career arch Im hoping for is Chauncey Billups. That dude had major injury and shooting issues to start his career. He was even on the Magic as an afterthought! Then he became an awesome role player in MN before becoming a star in Det. We are showing way more patience than the Celtics did

Kevon Harris needs to play more. He looked so confident with his mid range pull up. He defends too. I really want him getting Gary's minutes. It's time.

Yeah... even Stevie Wonder can see what we lack.
Although TBF, we did draft a shooter this year and started to play a shooter we drafted last year.
Its the zodiacs fault that a supposed to be good shooter in Harris lost his touch.

So far AB does one thing well, D, and that wasn’t really a glaring need for us. If he can’t get minutes in this guard rotation then what are we doing.

Re: Official 2023-2024 Magic General Season Thread
There are a lot of positives about AB. He's playing an offball and low usage role on offense and showing terrific tendencies; great offball movement, high 3PAr and FTr, and the ability to shoot the ball. He's well ahead offensively of where many thought he'd be.Fortune Teller wrote:So far AB does one thing well, D, and that wasn’t really a glaring need for us. Still learning though, he's only a rookie.

We just got super spoiled with Franz Wagner / Paolo back to back. Rookies do not score 20ppg in their first or second seasons. Not unless they are good. Most develop along Suggs timeline or NOT AT ALL.
I didn't realize we were in the all-star break until last night. That's how disconnected from the NBA I am.
I am a known rider of the Keyonte train. As of right now, picking him at 6 I think would have been a stretch vs AB. I know our reach pick was for Jett the Michigan farm Howard. I can't say I am happy with the 11th yet. It will probably take us years to pan it out. Yes, there are other players I would have taken over him. Lively - good idea, Keyonte - good idea, Dick - BAAAAADDD idea.
I am choosing to be Mr Sassy regarding Howard until he breaks the lineup.
Now on the topic of AB playing time. I would be giving him 20mpg+. But many would believe we can't make the playoffs/playins with a rookie point guard getting those minutes. I once said to my family Ben Rothlesburger will never win a super bowl in a fantasy draft when he was a rookie. So stranger things CAN happen.

Basically they didn’t want to do anything to ruffle feathers lol
“How would trading x player go over even though you got an offensively talented player back.”
If that doesn’t read how would trading Markelle go over…
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

I honestly hope he treats it as lazily fun as I saw people treat it last year.

Why doesn't Suggs average more minutes per game?

We need this to trend up, I'd love to see Suggs getting 30+ towards the end of the season and into the playoffs. Need the same trend from JI towards 25+.MagicMatic wrote:eyriq wrote:Why doesn't Suggs average more minutes per game?

to keep him healthy... and keep the price down... room for growth is absolutely there.
