How in the heck are they 3rd overall with those individual rankings? Also MLF is 21st as coach.

Because lots and lots of teams got f's and f- grades in categories.

Like KC has basically all D/F grades except coach.

I love this survey and happy they make it public.

Interesting that the Strength staff rated comparatively high, and that's one coach who got whacked in the off-season.

Ownership = A - Makes sense, as there's no meddling owner, and the Team Boss has mostly focused on infrastructure and the business side of things in his tenure (at least for public consumption)

Good. He's a solid player and vet leader. No reason to eat a bunch of dead cap to let him walk.

21st for HC is interesting. (26th for willing to listen to locker room - 15th for being efficient with their (players) time). I can see MLF being pretty set on his way of thinking in many cases, i.e. took a LONG time to change D Coordinator when writing was really on the wall last few years.

Oddly enough Justis Mosqueda reported the opposite on a podcast with Andy Herman, that Packer players didn't want Joe Barry to be fired(and the position coaches that left with him). Also stated that the Packer players liked the strength coach and he also got fired. I wonder if the players aren't super happy about the changes that were made

This is a legit question, I don't follow the cap as much as some. What's the benefit of cutting Bakh right now? Isn't his dead cap hit basically the same as his salary? Obviously if we could trade him, that is an easy decision, but do we gain more room down the road or what?

We gain roughly $20 million in cap space by cutting him

Doesn't the cut need to occur by March 13, to get the 20million knocked off the top of what is going to be paid to Bak in any case?

I believe it needs to be done by March 13 to avoid Bahk being able to file an injury grievance. I could be wrong though

Silverstein reporting the Packers are trying to get Aaron Jones to take a paycut and if he doesn't they will release him. Also says they are unlikely to re-sign Dillon

It was hard for me to imagine they wanted Dillon back. Dude didn't even look like an NFL player last year.

I said for most of last season there was no way Jones was gonna be back at this up comming years cap number...... However I have no idea how the Packers can rationalize cutting him even at his current cap number after how the offense looked with, versus without, him on the field

This is gotta be a which one blinks 1st kind of situation

The only situation that it might makes sense is if they plan at making a run at say Saquan in FA (possible I guess considering they did try to make a play for J Taylor)

The captions seem misleading. If you read the whole article, it's basically just saying that the Packers are hoping to give Jones whatever his realistic market value is now so that it can be settled and they can move on to other business. No reason to make it sound like they're not going to do everything they can, within reason, to bring him back. Even if cap logistics mean they end up having to cut him by a certain date and let him explore other offers, Silverstein makes it sound like they're hoping he would give them a chance to match those offers - but would rather have it resolved sooner, of course. I fully expect him to be a Packer next season.
