Daron Holmes needs to be a Raptor. He'd fit perfectly as a future stretch big next to Scottie

I like that he plays with spirit too. Need some more energy guys on this team

i could see a reverse thad type move. something like bb + det for a 18th pick

Really hoping we can offload Poeltl and Brown for at least one additional pick each. Even moving just one of them for that price would really give us a great chance at picking up a worthwhile prospect.

I see some Cam Johnson / Trey Murphy III in him. He's already a legit shooter as a freshman.

He's the guy I think we would've targeted with this #6-8 pick we're about to lose..

and he'll be the reason we regret it.

I see alot of Trey Murphy with a shade of Tatum in him, very underrated currently but he's already climbing boards.

really good jumper, outside of that he looks turrible

Great length, can handle the ball, but very slow and not explosive for a wing. Can handle P/R duties, but doesn't particular excel at it. Won't be an iso player in the NBA. Has a lot of unforced TO's. Lack of foot speed is essentially the largest limiting factor. He needs to improve on strength, which is much easier, but not sure he can get that much faster.

Furphy looks like a good target for 31st. Any big shooter would work well with our system.

how is Holmes on perimeter defense? or is he a full-time PF?

Would be a nice fit with Scottie, but we might get burned by fast SF's on D. His movements in the post need to speed up when he gets to the NBA imo.

Furphy looks like a two-year guy. Was he even supposed to be a one and done?

Big shooter I keep coming back to is Baylor Scheierman from Creighton. He is going to be 24 this year, but he can shoot and board. He reminds me of Kennard even being a lefty.

I'm back to thinking we take Missi with the Pacers pick. Fairly classic Masai pick in that he seems to be improving at a decent rate and has a high motor. And grabbing a center who might be ready in 2-3 years makes some long-term planning sense.

Pluses:
-Having a good freshman year overall
-Very athletic for a 5
-Can put it on the deck more than a typical center
-Rebounding might be improvable when he gets stronger in the legs/base
-Finishing at a high rate inside

Minuses:
-Meh rebounder
-Old for a freshman
-Meh FT shooter
-Baylor is terrible on D and to me that matters for a center (for them, fairly crummy generally)
Where's the D?

I really don't think they want another pick in this draft. Probably why a Brown deal didn't get done in the first place.

I could see a scenario where win-now, luxury tax teams like Miami and Phoenix trade their first round pick (currently 18 and 19) for #31/32 and a future second/cash. They can target a senior type player or someone who falls into the 2nd round who can contribute immediately while saving millions on salary and luxury tax.

That would be an ideal outcome for that Detroit second imo.

I could see that if they were worried that the guy they wanted wouldn't slip.

Or draft and stash for a year as the foreign player wouldn't sign for late 1st round money when they can make more overseas. So use the #31 or #32 to get their rights and sign a 3 to 4 year deal worth like mid 1st round money.

Ivisic is 7'2 and mobile.

Pacers pick: Furphy, Tyler Smith or Ivisic. I guess maybe get someone that drops to them as it might be close to the #13 pick.

Focus your thinking on Brown. Poeltl isn't going anywhere.

My early impression is he's a 4 who you scantily play at 5. I don't agree with the outlook on Holmes but do on Tyson. Holmes seems like a TJD situation, hyper productive leader of a D1 program who will likely be bypassed by many teams and come in immediately and get minutes off the bench and surprise. He does operate slowly in the post but looks good passing out of double teams and if he's 1v1 good things happen.

IQ, Dick, Agbaji, JFL, maybe Carton and Ramsey. We got some depth at Guards.

I too like to see we add some size with the pacers pick. Either a Center or a long forward would work. And it seems there are plenty of options at that spot. It would be even better if we add another one with the Pistons 2nd round pick.

5. Reed Sheppard | PG/SG | Kentucky
6-2 | Age: 19.5 | Previously ranked: 12

Despite still coming off the bench, Sheppard has proved impossible to keep off the floor for Kentucky in SEC play, where he already has had several signature moments in cementing his case as the best freshman in college basketball. Scouts regularly express concern about his limited physical tools (6-foot-2 in shoes and 187 pounds with a 6-3 wingspan) and what that means for his defensive and finishing potential in the NBA. But that he continues to make strides with his pick-and-roll playmaking combined with his historically great 3-point shooting is increasingly hard to ignore. Only one NCAA first-round pick in the past 35 years (Michigan's Glen Rice in 1989) has shot over 50% from 3 on more than four attempts per game like Sheppard is doing this season (see note below), and Sheppard's basketball instincts should help him impact winning in a variety of other ways. -- Givony

10. Tidjane Salaun | PF | Cholet
6-10 | Age: 18.4 | Previously ranked: 8

The French Basketball Cup and FIBA qualifying window made for a quiet month for Salaun and Cholet -- who only played two games since Feb. 10. A 10-rebound, six-assist outing in his most recent contest showed some of the subtle ways Salaun is improving as the season moves on, and his defense also has made significant strides, as his nonstop intensity has helped him carve out a significant role. That's important, because Salaun's jumper has been streaky since his scorching month of January (26% from 3 in the past 12 games) and he isn't a reliable shot-creator or decision-maker. It's rare to see an 18-year-old contributing at this level of competition, however, and he is clearly nowhere near reaching his full potential. Cholet has a huge month in store in the FIBA Champions League's top 16 stage while trying to lock down a playoff spot in Pro A, giving Salaun a significant platform to work off. NBA teams will be present for every game he plays. -- Givony

11. Kyle Filipowski | PF/C | Duke
7-0 | Age: 20.3 | Previously ranked: 9

Filipowski has put together an All-American-caliber season and has helped to address some of the NBA's concerns about his game, making strides as a defender at his size and proving more mobile and versatile than many expected. While limited a bit athletically, he can create matchup problems at his size due to his skill level and should have good utility on the offensive end provided he continues to improve as a shooter. He isn't a fit for every team -- he's likely better suited for a half-court-oriented style that is slower paced -- but supplies unique qualities that will warrant consideration early in the draft, depending on what a team needs. -- Woo
