He denied being in communication with Adrian. I don't think he was doing him dirty. He even said to the Bucks, I don't know if this is the right move, to hire me before ASB.

Horst goes to Doc for advice, thats pretty much sizing up for replacement.

My point is more that he was supposedly consulting and then showed up as HC and apparently had no idea what we were (or weren't) doing.

that consulting report was false?

At his first press conference, Doc said it wasn't true.

Lol never hire Doc as a consultant though.

Its like hiring a marriage counselor and then the counselor starts **** your wife

I mean, if I was as bad at it as AG was coaching, I wouldn't even be mad if the marriage counselor took over.

My impression has been there is ass-covering going on due to the unwritten rule that coaches don’t go after other coaches jobs in the NBA.

Suspect Horst and Doc walked a tight rope to make this as clean as they could from a PR standpoint but it was going to be dirty no matter what.

Or what do we think really happened?

Rivers denies being a consultant for Griffin... or does he?

Shortly after the Bucks made the shock decision to fire first-year head coach Adrian Griffin despite a stellar 30-13 record, The Athletic reported that Rivers had been serving as an informal consultant to Griffin since December, and was now the leading candidate to be his replacement.

Even giving Rivers the benefit of the doubt, that was not a great look for the veteran coach. On Saturday, Rivers denied that report.

"Yeah, that's not true," Rivers said. "I don't know where that came from. I was never a consultant. If I was, I need to be paid some more money for that because I didn't get a check."

As he continued to speak, though, he acknowledged that he was friends with Griffin and spoke with him on multiple occasions, including in recent days.

"Adrian and I are good friends," Rivers explained. "I talked to Adrian the last three days. I talked to him the night of the firing, I talked to him, we talk a lot. Listen, I wanted him to do well. I look at him as a guy that - he's a lifer - and for 15 years, he was trying to get a job and then he gets a job and it doesn't work out for him. And this league in a lot of ways can be fair and not fair, that's for everybody else to judge, I just know him as a human. And he's a terrific dude."

Later in the press conference he also admitted that earlier this season he would "call coaches just to screw with them and talk" because he loved the game and was "bored." That sort of activity can certainly fall into the category of informal consulting.

Speaking for the first time since Suns forward Kevin Durant was assessed a flagrant foul for stepping into Middleton’s landing space following a jump shot, Middleton said, “I can’t think of an ankle sprain I’ve had this bad like this that I’ve had in the past.

“After it happened I tried to play, run it off a little bit, see if it was going to loosen up or whatever. Just didn’t. Didn’t feel comfortable. Went into the back, tried to get re-taped, and as soon as I took my shoe off it just blew up. So had to shut it down.”

“I haven’t had setbacks, just taken a little bit maybe a day or two longer, a week or two longer or whatever, but it’s the position I’m in right now,” he said.

“Just haven’t been able to get to that final step to get out there and play,” he said. “But I’ve been working hard. Been able to get on the court the last couple weeks but just haven’t been able to go 100%.”

“I want to get back out there,” Middleton said. “I need to be playing. I’ve been on a minute restriction most of the year so at this point I just need to be on the court. So, I’m fighting every day that I can.”
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Feels like a decade from now, we'll look back and curse the fact Middleton's injuries post 2021 are what sunk the Bucks from getting a 2nd title. He's an absolute mess on the injury front, and we're now in the third year of it costing the team. Not blaming him. It is what it is, but his body isn't made for a long career.

Whenever I think about this, I put myself back in 2013. A time when we had no new arena, no top three superstar and no title. Getting even ONE of those things to happen in the next decade would be a godsend. We got all three.

It's why one title is so worth celebrating - nothing is guaranteed. I was happy when we got the one, and anything since has just been gravy. It's just so damn hard because of the confluence of lucky events necessary to come out on top in June.

Gabriel signed a 10 day with the Griz. We probably should have signed him over Gallo

Really who fears anybody these days? The league has finally gotten to a good spot where there isn't just 2-3 teams in a league of their own like there was for so long. Its a good thing that so many teams are generally close/even. But tbf the only team that you could even remotely use the 'fear' about this year is Bos. But I really don't think its like that anymore, KD Warriors, prime LBJ, Lakers Dynasty, Bostons bought team, Jordan Bulls, etc don't exist anymore.

I like Gabriel's skillset. Saw him the other night in Oshkosh and he was the best player on the court in that game (he was ejected for a couple of technicals).

Let's go back further. That hamstring pulled of the bone injury was in 2016 ... he played a lot of games the few years after that but he was either protecting it, in pain, minutes restriction or just couldn't go near his original speed. We're going on 8 years of injuries being a huge issue with missed games, minutes restrictions, missed parts of playoffs or playoff serieses and generally a lot of games where he's in but can't seem to bend his knees or needed a 2nd defender standing right behind him anticipating he'll get blown straight by.

Someone had broken a mirror because think back... it's been 7+ years of bad luck with:
A. man when Khris gets back this is going to be awesome
B. I can't wait til his minutes restriction is over and he can go 30,+ again
C. man just wait til Khris gets back in shape now and can go full speed again and keep up on defense
D. It never actually happens.. he never looks full speed and another nagging injury puts us back at A.

And when did any of this effect us in the playoffs? Khris was awesome against Miami last year.

If we look back at why we didn't win more championships, so far the number 1 reason would be terrible PG play. Bledsoe killed us 2 years in a row, Jrue murdered us last year and was bad offensively versus Boston the year before.
