I've been saying it all season.

What makes Tatum much better than guys like Donovan Mitchell and Brunson aside from a stacked team?

Tatum is a better defender sure but those guys are also way better passers than Tatum so it balances out.

That being said I am fine with what Tatum said. Every star should have that level of confidence.

However, I don't think Tatum really believes it at all. Dude shrunk and did nothing vs the Nuggets. Kobe would have jacked up 20-30 shots even if he wasnt doing well.

Reminds me of fans of a bad defensive player waiting a year and saying "actually his defense is greatly improved, you just don't watch his games!" It happened with Harden and the fans attempted it with Trae.

Tatum is probably top-8 - for the playoffs i'd rather have

Kawhi
Lebron
Curry
Jokic
Giannis
Luka

Jury is out on SGA and KD is old now - Embiid is a choker obviously

Tatum is not top 10. Jokic, Luka, SGA, Giannis, Embiid, Kawhi, Lebron, KD, Booker, Mitchell, Murray, Ant, Butler, Sabonis are some of the players I would pick over Tatum.

Exactly.

Tatum had better stats last year but Celtics fans are trying to convince me he improved.

Ok how has he improved? From the games I watched he certainly has not improved at anything. The advanced and box score stats are the same or worse.

The only thing that improved is his stacked roster got even more stacked....

Yeah it’s clear lately he’s not even close. I was wrong that him and Luka were close, they aren’t.

Except prime Kobe was a far better player than Tatum. He would have destroyed this Nuggets team just like he spent the 00's destroying them lmao

Nah, Jokic would be too much for him.

I will have to agree with this. I wanted to believe that he is very unselfish which leads to his lack of aggression as a scorer and leader. Watching the lost to the Nuggets last night...either Tatum was incredibly fatigued last night, or the dude just doesn't have that extra gear to make him the leader of his team.

Jokic can't guard his own shadow lol. He's destroying this Nuggets team just like every dynamic guard does in the postseason.

Jokic absolutely does play defense...in the playoffs. I don't think he cares to play hard defense in the regular season because as a young player he was consistently getting into foul trouble and taking himself (and thus his teams) out of games.

This is pretty whiny for "oh no, there may be some better players from outside this nation," to be honest...

Are you really comparing Jokic to that loser Carmelo? :o

Kobe is obviously way better than Tatum and Jokic is way better than Melo at the same time.

He hasn't improved anything significantly except usage since his rookie year...his fg%, 3pt fg%, ft% are basically the same or even worse. His playmaking has a gotten better but that's about it. Look at Antman's steady progression across the board year after year.

Tatum has all the talent but just doesn't have it between the ears...dumb and soft. In 2 years time Jaylen Brown will be on that list ahead of Tatum as well.

btw this is coming from a diehard Celtics fan. I don't think you're wining a ring with Tatum as your #1. I am sure Stevens is anxiously waiting for a top 7 guy to ask out so he can swap.

Jaylen Brown hasn't really improved much either.

Problem with Tatum is he is a wannabe Kobe but his skill, talent, drive and mentality are not good enough to be Kobe. He should stop trying to emulate Kobe because he is not even a good bargain bin version.

Jaylen has improved steadily. FG%, 3p%, ft% and his assist to turnover ratio...and he will continue to improve. If he gets his 3pt back to 40% he will be a top ten player.

Idk..he plays too much hero ball. Ironically, I want Brown and Tatum to trade aggression levels on offense. I don't know if Brown plays this way because he knows Tatum won't be aggressive enough or if that's just the kind of player he is. Brown makes a great sniper piece on a team, but I really don't like him being the primary scorer.

Jokic showing Tatum what a real MVP looks like.

Honestly don’t even think Tatum believes this.
